  • Alternative Diploma Approach
  • -Many school districts due to their MSIP
evaluations and the increased or lack of control
of student dropout rates are in search of new
ways to address their at-risk student population.
  • -MSIP and the Department of Elementary
Secondary Education do support any alternatives
to help students graduate and to keep students in
    school.

10

address dropout concerns with our students not
desiring to return to Twin Rivers High School for
their fifth (5) year. We are very excited about
this concept and continuing to truly leave No
Child Left Behind in their educational endeavors.

15
MAP Elective Credit/Incentives
  • Various approaches to giving students elective
credits tied to their Map scores.

MAP Scholarships!
  • Three Rivers Community College , Southeast
Missouri State University and Twin Rivers R-X are
combining to initiate an academic books
scholarship tied to student MAP achievement.
  • This concept could bring 2 and/or 4 year
    colleges/ universities together with public
schools in terms of addressing student
    accountability to No Child
    Left Behind.

25
MAP Scholarships!
  • To qualify for this books scholarship based on
MAP achievement, students must be graduates in
the Three Rivers Community College regional area
or any student from the state of Missouri can
qualify for the Southeast Missouri State
    University books scholarship.
  • Students must apply/enroll in Three Rivers
    Community College/Southeast Missouri State
University and follow their normal application
    processes.

26
MAP Scholarships!
  • Students must have scored at level (4 or 5) on
his/her 10th or 11th grade MAP test in
    Communication Arts or Math.
  • Students can continue this books scholarship each
semester following their initial semester by
    maintaining current Three Rivers Community
    College/Southeast Missouri State University
    scholarship requirements.

27
MAP Scholarships!
  • This unique MAP books scholarship concept
initiated by Three Rivers Community College and
    Southeast Missouri State University will
    hopefully lead to other 2 and/or 4 year colleges/
    universities creating similar types of
scholarship offerings based upon student MAP
    achievements throughout the state.
