Jig assembly procedure

• Granite ruler for correct alignment of the
  reference side towers and comb reference blocks
• Shimming ? 30 ?m under all the intermediate comb
  feet for compensation of difference in diameter
  of tubes and endplug reference surface
• Orthogonality of outer comb side B to the line of
  the reference side towers ? granite ruler and
  square

Jig assembly procedure

• Parallelism of outer comb side A to outer comb
  side B ? equal distance between them at the two
  extremities , near ref towers and near non-ref
  towers
• Same method for the intermediate combs

Jig fixation to the granite table

• Comb fixations to the granite table allow for
  sliding in z-direction (fixed point at the ref
  side extremity)
• Comb movement in x-direction limited to ?50?m in
  case of accidental clash

• Vacuum system realized in separate sectors (3 for
  every comb)
• Very simple gluing machine (industrially treated
  for ant adherence)
• Very finely adjustable speed crane
• Sequence of gluing steps minimizing the number of
  tower interface changes
