How World War 2 Began

• Germany had signed a treaty after World War I to
  say that they would not attack France.
• Hitler sent his soldiers to take over Poland.
• France and Great Britain knew that Germany would
  soon attack them
• France and Great Britain declared war on Germany.

Rationing

• During World War II, food and clothes supplies
  were short, they had to be rationed. Rationing
  first began four months after the war had
  started. Everybody over the age of five had a
  ration book. These had tokens in them, allowing
  the person a certain amount of food each week.
  Food that was rationed included butter, eggs,
  sugar, meat etc. Expectant mothers were allowed
  some extra food, and therefore given a green
  ration book instead of the normal buff-coloured
  ones. Rationing did not end with the war- some
  things like sweets were still rationed until 1953.

Evacuation
During world War II, to save them from dying,
children got evacuated . The evacuation houses
they went to were in the country because the
cities were mostly bombed.

Gas Masks And Bombs

• Gas masks were used in the World War to keep the
  wearers (the public) safe from gas, from bombs.
  They were issued by the government. The bombs
  were dropped from planes to kill people. These
  bombs often contained gas that are very harmful
  to people thats where gas masks came in. There
  were often air raids to warn people that bombs
  were coming so get your masks on.

Who fought in the war?

• Most of Europe and America fought in the war.
  There was Britain, France, Denmark, Belgium,
  Norway and Greece. These were the Allies. Spain
  and Portugal were neutral. This means that they
  did not fight in the war. The other countries who
  fought against the Allies included Hungary,
  Romania, Bulgaria and Finland.

Concentration Camp/ Hitler

• Families that were captured by the Nazis would be
  sent to Concentration Camp. The rooms you stayed
  in would be so small that you couldnt sit down.
  Everyday in the morning when you woke up, youd
  always find someone dead lying all over the
  floor. Concentration camp was so bad that while
  working, people tried to escape along with being
  beaten.
