ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
- The Purpose of the Environmental Management and
Education project is to assist and support the
community development efforts in Romania by
raising the level of awareness and education
concerning environmental issues and by improving
the environmental protection practices, with
positive impact upon peoples living standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
- Community members in Romania will enhance their
knowledge about environmental protection issues,
thus being ready to involve themselves in actions
for addressing the environmental problems of
their communities.
Objective 1 By September 2010, PCVs and their
counterpart organizations will have improved
awareness about environmental issues among people
of 20 communities. Activities will include, but
are not limited to summer camps (GLOW and TOBE
camps), environmental and English clubs,
environmental celebrations (Earth Day, Danube
Day, Day Without Cars), public meetings.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
Objective 2 By September 2010, PCVs and their
counterpart organizations will have developed and
implemented environmental classes, trainings and
courses for people (including students and
teachers) in 25 communities. Activities will
include the development of curricula and
educational materials, the training of
trainers/teachers, the delivery of formal and
informal environmental education, seminars, and
presentations, among other activities.

- Through a strengthened capacity to promote and
implement sound environmental management
practices, both governmental and non-governmental
community organizations in Romania will be able
to provide better environmental services and
information to people in 20 communities and will
be able to foster the overall development of
their communities.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
- Objective 1
- By September 2010, PCVs and their counterpart
organizations will have improved the knowledge of
people and organizations in 25 communities in
areas such as identification, planning and
prioritization of community environmental action.
Activities will include the following
environmental and strategic planning,
biodiversity, nature conservation, development of
eco-tourism, green policies, sustainable
development, networking, lobby and advocacy.

- Objective 2
- By September 2010, PCVs and their counterpart
organizations will have developed and enhanced
the abilities of identifying, preparing,
financing and managing project proposals in 20
communities. Activities will include, among
others, trainings and presentations on
grant-writing and fundraising, support in
identifying financial resources, and support for
project management and reporting.
