• International organisation established by ASEM
  partners in 1997
• Total of 45 partners including the ASEAN
  Secretariat and the European Commission
• Funded by ASEM partners on a voluntary basis

• Promote mutual understanding and collaboration
  between People of Asia and Europe.
• Report to a Board of Governors (BoG)
  representing the ASEM partners.

• Sustainable Networks that reinforce bi-regional

• Policy recommendations to ASEM policy makers
  through high level officials and Ministerial
  Meetings
• ASEM visibility by improving awareness and

  formats detailing the strategies and results of
  ASEF projects and individual research programmes
