  childbirth
• Every 3-1/2 months 307,000 people die of
  malaria
• Every 35 days 307,000 people die of HIV/AIDS
• Every 10 days 307,000 children under five die
• Right now 307,000 child soldiers around the
  world, many under the age of 10

Goal 1 Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

Goal 3 Promote gender equality and empower women
Galatians 328 There is no longer Jew or Greek,
there is no longer slave or free, there is no
longer male and female for all of you are one in
Christ Jesus.

Goal 4 Reduce child mortality
Matthew 108 Cure the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received

Goal 5 Improve maternal health

Goal 6 Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other
diseases

him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it.

Goal 8 Develop a global partnership for
development
Psalm 823-4 Give justice to the weak and the
orphan maintain the right of the lowly and the
destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy deliver
them from the hand of the wicked.

What can ONE Congregation do?

• Include the MDGs in your weekly prayers.
• Invite a speaker from the Task Force.
• Do a Lenten class, book study or film series.
• Pick a project follow your passion.
• Organize your community.
• Go on a mission trip.
• Listen to the voices around you.
• Give 0.7 of your congregations budget.
