Course Prerequisites
  • In order to be successful in Algebra II you must
  • Have successfully completed Algebra I and
    Geometry
  • Be eager and willing to learn
  • Be willing to work hard
  • Take responsibility for your learning

Algebra II is
  • Demanding (upper level math class)
  • Rigorous (Little free time)
  • Fast paced (average of 1 lesson /class)
  • Rewarding (material used in future classes and
    real world applications!)

Student Responsibilities
  • Respect the rights of others
  • Come to class prepared and ON TIME
  • Adhere to ALL school policies
  • Maintain daily Cornell Notes (PowerPoint Handout
    3 slides/page) from my web site www.hoehnmath.com
  • Complete assignments on time
  • Complete make-up work (excused absences ONLY) in
    a timely manner
  • Request a seminar pass when needed There will
    be no notice administrative attendance calls

  • A three-ring binder with dividers (for tests,
    quizzes, homework and notes)
  • Graph paper!!
  • Pencils and pens
  • Daily notes -Cornell Notes (PowerPoint Handout 3

  • Colored pencils or fine tip markers
  • A TI-84 (or TI-83) graphing calculator
  • A positive attitude

  • A monthly assignment calendar (www.hoehnmath.com
    )
  • Daily notes along with a detailed explanation of
    each topic
  • Time for you to practice new skills during the
    class
  • Extra assistance when needed
  • A comfortable and positive learning environment

I will NOT provide
  • Extra Credit
  • Retakes of tests or quizzes
  • Curved grades! I do not curve grades simply
    because students do not study and prepare for a
    scheduled test.
