History of Earth Day

• Earth Day was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson.
• The first Earth Day was held in 1970.
• We celebrate Earth Day every year on April 22.

Things YOU can Do to Help Save the Earth

• Reuse, reduce,
• Recycle!
• Dont litter!
• Plant trees
• Carpool
• Turn off lights
• Turn off water

Why should YOU Clean Up the Earth?

• If we dont recycle, there will be trash
  everywhere
• If we litter, there will be trash everywhere and
  animals can get sick and even die
• Plant trees- they convert carbon dioxide to
  oxygen for us to breathe
