Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT) connects
workplace learning with colleges and universities
by helping adults gain access to academic credit
for formal courses and examinations taken outside
the traditional degree programs. Utilize the
credit recommendations to attract and retain
nontraditional learners.

- The award of academic credit based on ACE credit
recommendations is crucial to the ultimate
success of the program. - At the same time, ACE recognizes that the
transfer of the credit recommendation is at the
discretion of each institution and often is
determined by - The institutions overall policy toward extra
institutional learning, - The major or minor associated with the students
degree program and/or - The appropriate level of the credit
recommendation as it fits into the degree or
certificate program.

- By joining the Cooperating College Network, your
institution will - immediately draw the attention of working
professionals, employers, and training
organizations. - Adult learners, to include military
servicemembers, are directed to the Cooperating
College listing by our representatives in the
Lifelong Resource Center and through the
comprehensive adult learner resources featured
within the ACE website. - Members will receive periodic communications
regarding upcoming workshops, events, and news
briefs on emerging trends in lifelong learning

- Member Colleges will
- Represent the American Council on Education
College Credit Recommendation in your state or
region. - Promote use of ACE college credit recommendations
by adult learners. - Promote acceptance of ACE college credit
recommendations among colleges, universities, and
the higher education community within the state
or region. - Provide advocacy service to adult students with
colleges and universities. - Host informational and promotional workshops for
client organizations, potential clients,
colleges, universities, government, and the
higher education community. - Identify potential client organizations for an
ACE course review.

- Requirements to joining the ACE CREDIT Affiliate
Office network - Current and continuing ACE membership.
- Degree-granting institution accredited by an
institutional accrediting agency recognized by
the U.S. Department of Education or by the
Council for Higher Education Accreditation
(CHEA). - Subscribe to the principles of Joint Statement on
the Transfer and Award of Credit.

- A no-cost agreement is signed to formalize the
partnership

- The purpose of the ACE CREDIT Affiliate College
program is - to enhance the promotion of the College Credit
Recommendation Service and Military Programs - to provide a bridge to higher education for adult
learners through mutually beneficial agreements
with institutions of higher education.

- Increased Visibility. By becoming an Affiliate
Office, your institution will immediately draw
the attention of working professionals,
employers, and training organizations. Adult
learners, to include military servicemembers, are
directed to Affiliate Offices by our
representatives in the Center for Lifelong
Resource Center and through the comprehensive
adult learner resources featured within the ACE
website. - Access to Adult Learners and Transfer Students
The ACE Transcript Registry holds nearly one
million records of adult learners who have
completed courses evaluated for academic credit
through the ACE College Credit Recommendation
Service. Hundreds of ACE Credit Recommendations
directly relate to workforce-related degrees or
programs. Adult learners often refer to the
online listing of ACE cooperating and affiliate
colleges for institutions that are adult friendly
and that accept the ACE transcript.
24Affiliate College
- Revenue Sharing. Affiliate Colleges are eligible
for a comprehensive revenue sharing agreement
based on transparent fee schedules and tracking
mechanisms. Attached is a sample revenue sharing
matrix. - Direct Link to CREDIT Organizations. After a
successful course review, the organizations are
provided information on the degree and
certificate programs of the Affiliate Colleges.
