Stuff the Bus
What is Communities in Schools? The leading drop
out prevention network in the country. CISS
provides the link between educators , students
and community resources. Empowering the lives of
students so they stay in school and prepare for
life.
What is Stuff the Bus? Stuff the Bus is a joint
effort between Communities in Schools of Seattle
(CISS) and community members to provide children
in need with backpacks, school supplies and
other basic items they need to be successful in
school. In a district of over 45,000 students,
more than 40 come from impoverished backgrounds.
How Does it Work? Our goal is to fill an entire
school bus with school supplies. Participating
partners collect items in July and August. A
school bus will collect the items at the end of
August. Items are sorted and distributed to the
schools with the greatest need. Last year we
provided supplies to 23 schools, we hope to reach
even more this year!

• How Can You Help?
• Coordinate a supply drive at your business,
  church, community
• Collect funds to sponsor a child for 25 (for
  educational programs and/or school supplies).
• Volunteer!!! Sort through donated backpacks
  supplies or ride the bus with us!
