Logging In to SchoolWires
Open an Internet browser. Type in the website
address http//schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/lhs
In the top right corner, click sign-in.

  • Look at your confidential information sheet for
    your sign-in information.
  • Your Sign-in name is your firstname.lastname.
  • Your Password is the 6 character password given
    to you.

When you log in you will be directed back to the
website homepage.

In the top right corner click Access Info.
Change your password here.

For now, you can choose your password. In the
near future, your password to your web page will
be the same as your password to login on your
computer at school (your network password).

Editing Your Page or Section
Navigate to your faculty page by clicking on
Teachers on the left side of the page. Notice
that Site Manager appears in the upper right
corner on the pages you can edit. To begin
editing, click on the Site Manager Tab on the
upper right side.

It is from within Site Manager that you can begin
editing. Notice the Site Manager and View Website
tabs in the upper left corner. If you click on
View Website, you can preview your work.

You begin editing your page by clicking on the
name of the page. Click on Overview.

You can edit text in much the same way you do
with a word processing application such as
Microsoft Word.

Type text first. Then highlight (click and drag)
the text you wish to change. Change the style,
font, size, color, etc.

Inserting a Picture
To insert a picture, FIRST place the pointer at
the location where you wish to insert the picture.

THEN to insert a picture, click the Insert Image
button on the tool bar.

In the dialog box select the location of your
picture and click next.

If you choose an image on your computer the
dialog box will ask you to browse for the image
and select the size you prefer.

Choose the image you wish to inset and click Open.

A dialog box will tell you the image is being
uploaded. When complete, click next.

You must enter text into the Alt. Text field.
This is what will display when a cursor rolls
over the image. Click Insert Image.

The image will be inserted in the editor. You can
make some adjustments to placement using the text
align buttons on the tool bar.

save. Finally, Click the View Website tab to view
your work.

Make sure you insert files in all formats. Word
documents are normally saved as a .doc file. A
Word document can be saved in an .rtf format as
well (rtf is rich text format).

Make sure you insert files in all formats. Scan
documents on the scanners at the printers to a
Adobe .pdf format so they can be opened by anyone
with Adobe Reader.

To insert a file, first type the words that will
be the hyperlink.

icon.

this is easy to do if you copied the text
earlier. Hold the Control button on the keyboard
and hit V (for paste).

field. Choose to open in a new window or the same
window. Click Insert File.

make it more user friendly.

place on a page. Tables also allow the webmaster
to place text in a table without using tabs,
bullets, and other formatting objects.

Place your cursor on the page where you wish to
insert a table. Find the Insert Table button.

that you prefer.

columns. If you cannot see the table, click the
Show/Hide Gridlines button.

Table/Cell button. You will see 3 options.
Choose one to begin the editing process.

edit the table size by deleting or adding rows or
columns.
