    ensuring students are prepared for higher
    education and the workplace with a focus on its
    structured mentoring system.

    by local boards of education, when districts come
    together to cooperatively share resources.

Lake Arthur High School
  • Lake Arthur High School is among the few schools
    in the state New Mexico who have exceeded student
    achievement targets for No Child Left Behind and
    was named as a Bronze school by U.S. News and
    World Report. A key component to this success is
    the focus on the student, where students take
    ownership of their learning through a structured
    mentoring system.

    above the proficient level in reading on the New
    Mexico Standards Based Assessment (NMSBA) will
    increase to meet or exceed the Annual Measurable
    Objective (AMO) or meet or exceed grade level
    performance indicators.
  • Writing The percentage of students scoring at
    or above the proficient level in writing on the
    Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) and
    6-Trait Writing assessment to meet or exceed
    NMSBA grade level writing performance rubric
    score of 3 or better.
  • Mathematics The percentage of students scoring
    at or above the proficient level in mathematics
    on the NMSBA will increase to meet or exceed the
    AMOs or meet or exceed grade level performance
    indicators.
  • Parent/Community Involvement
  • Increase family and community knowledge of the
    school setting and student learning expectations
    as measured by a parent student learning
    monitoring task (parent survey) and its
    relationship to improvement of student
    achievement performance.
