Goals
As a lifelong learner I use and plan to use
technology on a daily basis. As a teacher I plan
to use technology in the classroom. I presently
encourage my four year old students to use the
computer at least twice a week. I personally use
technology by doing my lesson plans on the
computer and will soon have them accessible
online. I also use a digital camera in the
classroom to capture how my students are
progressing throughout the year. Also, when we do
certain activities in the classroom I use the
flex camera so the students can have a better
view of the activity. I think that it is
important to commit yourself as a lifelong
learner in technology because technology is
changing everyday. I am constantly on my computer
looking for age appropriate websites to
integrate technology into lessons because it is
the responsibility of the teacher to make sure
students can use technology efficiently. My first
step of being a lifelong learner of technology
was taking InTEch and now I am pursing my
Masters which has taught me many ways of putting
technology to good use. I have acquired a lot of
information that will be very beneficial to my
class and my school. I have created materials
that I can use such as a still image video and a
digital video. I will definitely make sure I
continue to educate myself by attending
conferences and professional development courses
to ensure my students and I both strive to be
lifelong learners of technology.

Biography
I am originally from New Orleans, LA were I spent
most of my preteen years. I have had the
opportunity to travel abroad and within the fifty
United States because of the military. The
military allowed me to have experiences of a
lifetime and I wouldnt trade it for the world.
This brings me to my final destination
Hinesville, GA. I have resided here for the past
10 years, and although it has been a wonderful
experience I am more than ready to move on! I
graduated from Bradwell Institute as a member of
The National Honor Society in 1998. In 2002 I
received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education
from Paine College located Augusta, GA as an
Honor graduate. In 2005 I received my M.Ed. in
Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern
University located in Statesboro, GA. I have
taught Pre-k for the past three years and I LOVE
it! My students make me want to get up every
morning just to see what new things I will learn
from them.

Philosophy
My philosophy of education can be stated, as
education is the sum of experience along with
learning and application to daily life. We live
day to day and everyday is a new experience
unlike anyone before. The longer we live the
more we learn. Education is the key factor to
every opportunity, which if acted upon correctly
will ultimately lead to success. It should be a
personal goal to strive for success no matter how
hard it may seem to accomplish. I believe that
an education is essential to everyone who wishes
to prosper and live well. I agree with the
statement that education in the key to unlock
any door, for there is great truth in this
statement. I plan to do my best to help students
understand and help them realize just what this
statement is saying. We can never learn enough,
therefore the more we learn the more doors will
be opened in our life. Since reading is such an
important part of a great education it is my
belief that we should allow students the freedom
of reading, viewing what is of interest to them.
Books have the ability to bring out the best in
children because they force you to use your
imagination and take you places you thought you
would never go. Students should have access to
controversial materials so they can ultimately
become independent critical readers and thinkers.
As a media specialist I will strive to give my
students access to various types of materials
that will support the curriculum, and represent
all ethnic, religious and cultural groups of
America.
