What is PDF?
  • PDF stands for Portable Document Format.
  • Cross-platform file format.
  • Documents will look exactly as you intended.
  • Viewable by any PDF reader.

Why use PDF?
  • Portability - Can be seen on any platform
  • Security - Can be given passwords
  • Fidelity - Looks exactly like the original

What files can be converted?
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • WordPerfect
  • txt and rtf
  • Graphics (pictures, etc.)
  • Almost anything else

Creating PDF in MS Office 2007
  • Open the program (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Open the document to be converted
  • Open the Office Button
  • SelectSave As ? PDF or XPS
  • Give the file a name
  • Select the location to save it
  • Click on Publish

PDF Security
