4 GWP CACENA Institutional Structure
5Objective of the GWP CACENA Strategy for
2004-2008
- Promotion of the principles of integrated water
resources management (IWRM). This shall be
implemented by means of involving the society in
the decision-making process, promoting the
political will to cooperation, initiating
dialogues among all stakeholders, and supporting
practical activities on the implementation of the
IWRM principles.
6As Strategy has a five year time-frame, it is
divided into Inter-related Logical Phases
- 2004-2005 Creation of the real regional
partnership between all interested parties and
analysis of the possibilities/ways for IWRM
implementation into practice via dialogues and
participation. - 2006-2007 Strengthening of the Regional and
Country Water Partnerships and implementation of
IWRM principles using participatory tools and
fundraising. - 2008 Agreement of the strategy (including
communication and fund-raising) of further steps
on water partnership development in the region to
sustain achieved outputs
