2PURPOSE
- Provide an Overview of Quartermaster Center and
School (QMCS) Food Service Training and
Operations. - Present the roles and responsibilities, programs,
projects, and services by AMEDD personnel
assigned to the QMCS. - Brief the BRAC transformation of the
Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence.

SCHOOLSupporting Victory
- Fort Lee is Home of the Quartermaster Corps
- The 23d BDE 3-Training Battalions, 5-Training
Departments (ACES, AD-FS, LTD, MA, PWD) - Advanced Individual Training Including Nine
Military Occupational Specialties - Quartermaster NCOES and OES CoursesÂ
- Staff Judge Advocate Officer Basic and Advance
Courses - A Marine Corps Detachment
- Daily Strength Averages over 4,500 Warriors
4The Quartermaster Center and School (QMCS) is a
subordinate command of the United States Army
Combined Arms Support Command. The QMCS trains
Soldiers, civilians, and members of other
Services and Nations in QM skills and functions.
In addition to training, the QMCS has command of
the 23d Quartermaster Brigade and serves as a
proponent on all QM matters. The QMCS is located
at Fort Lee, Virginia.

6ACES MISSION
- Provide leadership, education and training, and
management of the Army Food Program. - Prepare Soldiers, civilians, and members of other
services/countries in Army subsistence and food
service operations for wartime, garrison, and
field training success. - Develop Army subsistence and food service
concepts, doctrine, systems, force structure, and
material requirements for wartime, garrison, and
field training for sustaining combat ready forces
operating in both a joint and a combined
environment to meet worldwide commitments.

Food Program food safety and food defense issues. - Primary instructor of Force Health Protection and
Food Safety for all Quartermaster Officer
courses. - Liaison with MEDCOM, VETCOM, AMEDDCS, OTSG,
CHPPM, Natick Research, Development Engineering
Center, and various other agencies regarding Army
subsistence. - Technical advisor for the development of food
safety and food defense strategies, procedures,
and standards directly improving Army Food
Program doctrine. - Foodborne illness outbreaks investigation
assistance to Major Army Commands. - ACES representative to the Fort Lee Command Food
Service Management Board.
13DIETITIAN NUTRITION
- Registered Dietitian, Instructor/Writer.
Primarily responsibility for nutrition education
to Quartermaster Officers, Food Service
Technicians (Warrant Officers), and students in
the Advanced Culinary Skills Training Course. - Currently assigned as Deputy Directory of
Training. - Also provides patient education at Kenner Army
Health Clinic per MOA. - Voting member of the installation food service
management board.
- Primary nutrition Instructor/Writer for all
Quartermaster enlisted Food Service Courses
presents nutrition education to over 3,000
Soldiers and Marines annually including BNCOC and
ANCOC students develops and updates all
nutrition instruction materials performs as menu
board nutrition consultant in the absence of
Installation Dietitian. - Periodically trains Soldiers on weight control
program for proper nutritional guidance and
health risks associated with poor diet.

- Serve as Instructor/Writer for six NCOES, OES,
and Functional courses. - Responsible for the overall training of Food
Safety to over 3,000 IET Soldiers and Marines. - Trains NCOA and Warrant Officer courses.
- Develops and updates lesson plans, exams, and
training aids. - Coordinates and teaches the Reserve Component
Food Service Sanitation Adjunct Instructor
Course. - Periodically assists teaching the Principles of
Preventive Medicine and Food Safety classes for
BOLC, CLC3, and SSMO for Active, Reserve, and NG
Officers.

- The JCCoE Training Department is responsible for
the development, management and oversight of Army
and Joint Services basic and advanced food
service training provided for all branches of the
Armed Forces of the United States. Train
Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, DOD
civilians, and members of other allied countries
in basic and advanced food operations skills,
subsistence and food service equipment operations
for garrison and field training.
