Weve got to be careful that when we test
themthey are competent at doing the job, not
playing the game. (Caryl Oliver Flexible
Learning Leader) SMH 13/9/200 William Angliss
Institute of TAFE Melbourne bought 80 PDAs which
have cameras that could connect to other devices
using bluetooth wireless systems. The idea is
that teachers assign the devices and collect them
at the end of each pilot project. It is expected
that up to 14,000 students may use their own
PDAs or mobile phones to get course
material.here students choose their preferred
device ...which they likely already own!.

Note how the trend of email to mobile is equal in
2004 in comparison to 2001 and this year the
trend is growing towards more mobile users in
mid-2005

Do you think that emerging technology using PDAs
for example will benefit learners in the future?
