  • Met with other Birmingham Students Unions to
    organise the campaign against higher tuition fees
     
  • Went out and talked to students about their
    feelings towards semesters to gain evidence for
    the academic board.
  • Attended the bar committee meeting to clarify
    students comments at the Union General Meeting

  • Helped Out at Graduation
  • Dealt with Student issues regarding their course,
    placement issues and troubles they have had.
  • Have trained the SSCC reps who have come forward
    so far.

  • 1) I attended the Higher Education Conference in
    Manchester with School of Social Sciences and
    Humanities officer looking at ways to improve
    higher education but also the delicate and very
    important issues that higher education are facing
    at the moment
  •  
  • 2) Been training the last few yep across yr 1-3
    who were not able to make any of training's
    offered
  •  
  • 3) I attend the HEAR (Higher Education
    Achievement Record) in London with the equality
    office looking what has been going on with HEAR
    and speaking about our continuous work that we
    start last year with our focus groups and the
    student perspective.

  • Met with all first year students within my school
    in a lecture.

  • On October 29th I attended the National Union of
    Students Union Development Zone Conference in
    Manchester at the Thistle Hotel and got involved
    in the following sessions best practice in union
    democracy and best practice for governance and
    institutional relationships.
  • Achieved a resolution which will provide best
    practice on how to campaign about
    freeing Wednesdays for Activities at a regional
    competitions meeting for the British Universities
    Colleges Sport (BUCS). 
  • Continuously worked to support students' through
    involvement with a student issue, the Governance
    Review and the Union's constitution development.

  • Welfare Officer
  • 1-Notice Boards. Finally I have 2 notice boards
    with a selection of information which shows what
    Welfare has to offer.2-Student Info Advice
    Centre. We have some trained Officers more on
    there way, with a rota and timetable for Officer
    hours. We have already had some students come in
    needing confidential and serious advice-so please
    do remember we're here to help with almost
    anything you can throw at us!3-World AIDS Day.
    The planning for this has continued with regular
    meetings/work, but has come up against many
    problems so has taken a lot of work for myself
    and all the others involved (Thank you guys
    gals!)
