Introduction to the Course

• Win Zip Project Using the application, create a
  Power Point presentation using screen shots to
  demonstrate how to zip a file.
• Newsletter Project Learn proper techniques on
  formating and customizing in Microsoft Word and
  inserting graphics.
• Knoppix Project Using the application, create a
  power point presentation using screenshots from
  knoppix on how to take screenshots, use root and
  konsole,and using floppy or jump drives.
• Retirement Problem Project Introduction to
  Excel. Lrearn FV, PV, Lookup functions. Create
  an Excel spreadsheet illustration why one sjhold
  begin saving for retirement now rather then
  waiting.
• Data Base Project Intro to Access. Compiling
  surveys into a database, using input forms,
  queries, and create a report.

Knoppix PowerPoint

• Knoppix is a live CD where the
  operating system boots and runs completely from
  the CD. The CD contains over two gigabytes of
  software, including a full office suite, Web
  browsers, e-mail clients, and even games. All of
  the software runs from the CD-ROM, so your hard
  drive is left untouched. When you are finished,
  you can reboot back into your normal system as if
  nothing had happened. Knoppix is free software
  and can be used by anyone. The interface is
  almost identical to Windows.

  demonstrating how to use knoppix. The
  presentsation shold include screenshots on how to
  do various tasks how to take screenshots, use
  root shell or konsole, and using floppy or jump
  drives.

• Choose a topic of intrest to research and write
  about. This project incorporates adjusting
  settings in microsoft word such as in page setup,
  APA style, inserting graphics, Drop Caps,
  Watermarks, Inserting tables, and text wrappings.

Course Summary

• I learned a great deal in this computer course.
  Some programs I was very familiar were Microsoft
  Word and Power Point. With Access and Excell, I
  had no past experience in what so ever. I can
  now manage my bills, retirement files, and
  possibly my workout schedule on Excel. I will
  most likely need to use these Microsoft Office
  programs in the futere for school, my job, and
  for personal use.
