2IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS......I WOULD NEVER
LEAVE UNIVERSITY.
- I would study Canadian Popular Culture in the
History Department. - I would study Painting and Photography in the
Fine Arts Department. - I would study Contemporary Women Writers in the
English Department. - And I would study First Nations Cultures of the
Northwest Coast in the Anthropology Department.
3DESPITE THE FACT THAT I DO NOT HAVE A MILLION
DOLLARS......I HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN
SCHOOL.
- During my Bachelor of Arts degree, I had the
opportunity to study cultures from a variety of
historical periods and geographical locations.
Some of my favorite classes were in the study of - Inuit and First Nations Peoples
- Contemporary Canadian and American Artists
- Indigenous Arts of Central and South America

4- During my Master of Arts degree, I partook in
graduate seminars on the history and visual
culture of 10th century China, 12th century
Europe, 18th century England, 20th century India,
and Feminist Theory. - I am currently enrolled in a Master of Librarian
and Information Studies program.

5IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS......I WOULD NEVER
WORK FOR MONEY.
- I would teach children and adults about art and
history at a public art gallery. - I would write and illustrate childrens books and
novels. - I would organize literacy programs at a public
library.
6DESPITE THE FACT THAT I DO NOT HAVE A MILLION
DOLLARS......I HAVE HAD SOME INTERESTING JOBS.
- I found out I could survive anything when I
worked as a Tree Planter in British Columbias
Northern clear-cuts. - I discovered a love for teaching when I worked as
a Teaching Assistant for a first year Art History
course. - I developed a passion for Childrens Literature
while working as a Bookseller at a childrens
bookstore.
7IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS......I WOULD KAYAK
ALL OF BRITISH COLUMBIAS COASTLINE.
- I would kayak alongside the orca whales in the
Johnstone Strait. - I would kayak to Haida Gwaii (the Queen Charlotte
Islands), where ancient totem poles still stand. - I would kayak around Cape Scott, one of the most
pristine and rugged spots on Vancouver Island.
8DESPITE THE FACT THAT I DO NOT HAVE A MILLION
DOLLARS......I HAVE BEEN ON SOME WONDERFUL
KAYAKING TRIPS.
- I have explored rich marine tide pools in
Desolation Sound. - I have relaxed on the white sand beaches of the
Broken Islands. - I have photographed eroded sandstone structures
along the coast of the Gulf Islands.
9IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS......I WOULD TRAVEL
AROUND THE WORLD.
- I would visit ancient temples in Nepal and India.
- I would hike through Northern New Zealand.
- I would bicycle around Prince Edward Island.
- I would bask in the sun and the rich cultures of
Bali, Thailand, and Vietnam.
10DESPITE THE FACT THAT I DO NOT HAVE A MILLION
DOLLARS......I HAVE TRAVELED TO WONDERFUL PLACES.
- At the age of sixteen, I spent two months living
with a host family in Nara, Japan. - After my undergraduate degree, I spent three
months in Europe. Some of my many destinations
were England, Ireland, France, Italy, Greece,
Turkey, and Bulgaria. - During my masters degree, I spent two weeks
exploring and conducting research for my thesis
in London.
11IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS......LIFE WOULD BE
GREAT.
