SAT 9 Results First Grade Reading
  • DOEs percentile score increased by 7 other
    subjects in the same grade showed little
    progress.
  • 23 schools placed above the scaled score of the
    national norm group, an increase of 10 schools
    from 2003.
  • All elementary schools and all first grade
    reading scored above the national norm group
    scaled score, with the exception of one school.

    score compared to 2003 by 5 percentile points or
    more (5 percentile is significant).

  • Not yet impacted district-wide the first year
    because students were in the system for three
    years before DI, unlike first graders who were
    caught early.
  • Will take app. 2-3 years for significant
    improvement to occur, but it will happen
  • Reinforces the need for early intervention .
