- DOEs percentile score increased by 7 other
subjects in the same grade showed little
progress. - 23 schools placed above the scaled score of the
national norm group, an increase of 10 schools
from 2003. - All elementary schools and all first grade
reading scored above the national norm group
scaled score, with the exception of one school.

because students were in the system for three
years before DI, unlike first graders who were
caught early. - Will take app. 2-3 years for significant
improvement to occur, but it will happen - Reinforces the need for early intervention .

29- Because students are far behind, they need a
double dosage of systematic, research-based
corrective instruction in order to master the
fundamentals of reading and math at the level
expected of them at their particular grade.
