The National Educational Broadband Service (EBS)
Associations (NEBSAs) Vision Is to bridge
the Present to the Future by providing
mission critical information and resources for
the creation, delivery, installation,
implementation and maintenance of Educational
Broadband Services (EBS).

NEBSA.org was created in 2007 to coincide with
the change of the name of this association from
the National ITFS Association (NIA), to the
National EBS Association (NEBSA). This change
is a direct result of rulings made by the FCC in
2005 which changed the nomenclature of the
spectrum used for Instructional Television Fixed
Services (ITFS) to Educational Broadband
Services (EBS).

This site is designed for All NEBSA Members,
Affiliates, Industry Experts, Institutions and
Organizations currently or just becoming involved
in the provision of Educational Broadband
Services to serve the Distance Learning
Communities with Anywhere, Anytime, Any Space,
Any Pace Educational Opportunities and Services.

The FCC has ruled that the EBS Spectrum is for
education.   It is this Rule making which led to
the revision of the FCC Rules, the realignment of
the EBS spectrum to facilitate two-way digital
wireless broadband services, and the FCCs change
of name for the spectrum from ITFS to EBS
(Educational Broadband Service)

• NEBSA Goals Objectives

As NEBSA begins its first full year of service,
NEBSA will continue to be the leading advocate
for use of the spectrum set aside for education
by the FCC, to represent the interests of EBS
licensees at the FCC, and to provide an expanded
forum for exchange of information and advice on
the new technologies, new educational
applications, and commercial relationships.

NEBSA will continue providing the means to
accomplish these goals. The Association employs
FCC Counsel in Washington, D.C., maintains the
NEBSA list servers which it makes available to
all with EBS interests and conducts an Annual
Conference and Meeting in which experts in the
fields of FCC Rules, education, and technologies
provide attendees with the most current
information and developments in their fields.

February 23-25, 2009 In February 2009 , the
National EBS Association (NEBSA) will be meeting
in Boca Raton, Florida to to promote the use of
our spectrum for education and to provide EBS
managers with the relevant, expert and current
information that's needed to serve and protect
the interests of EBS licensees.
