Title: Triangles
1Triangles
2What exactly is a triangle?
- A triangle is a type of polygon with three sides
and three angles. - All of the sides are made with straight lines.
- There are three types of triangles when
classified by the length of the sides. - 1. Equilateral
- 2. Scalene
- 3. Isosceles
3The first type of triangle is called an
equilateral triangle.
An equilateral triangle has three sides that are
congruent, meaning all of the sides are the same
length.
4The second type of triangle is called a scalene
triangle.
- Scalene triangles do not have any congruent
sides, meaning none of the sides are the same
length.
5The third type of triangle is called an
isosceles triangle.
- Isosceles triangles only have two congruent
sides, meaning only two sides are the same
length.
6Lets see what you know!
- What type of triangle only has two congruent
sides? - Isosceles
- Equilateral
- Scalene
7You are right!
8Oops! Lets go through our triangles and try again.
9About me
I am a senior at WMU and ready to move onward. I
love animals, being outside, and spending time
with my friends and family. I also love to
teach, especially math! I plan on joining the
urban program, which means I will be starting my
pre-internship at Edison Elementary in the
Spring. After I graduate, I plan on moving out
of Michigan.
