Workshop Idea

• Location-Based Services (LBS) is the next big
  thing
• LBS requires technologies to work together
• Positioning technologies (GPS,GSM,..)
• Terminal technologies (cell phones, PDAs,..)
• Networking technologies (GSM, UMTS, ..)
• Database technologies (indexes, spatio-temporal
  DBs,)
• LBS software (services, base SW,..)
• LBS is a strategic area
• In industry as well as academia
• We can learn and benefit from each other
• Thus, it would be nice to bring all the parties
  together
• And here we are
