Method

• 8 Video Clips-two sets of actors, in two
  different settings, each displaying friendly
  non-verbal behaviors. 4 of the clips had the male
  initiating the conversation, the other 4 had the
  female initiating the conversation.

• Each clip was shown to five males and five
  females in the 18-28 age group. 80 people total
  saw the clips.
• After viewing the video the viewer was asked to
  fill out a questionnaire that rated both the
  males and females degree of friendliness and
  flirtatiousness.

Results

• Our hypotheses were not supported
• Results found were not significant
• No difference in how males and females rated
  behaviors
• Initiator of conversation not significant
• Setting made no difference in results
