YOUTH FAMILY SERVICES

  • Serviced almost 200 students
  • 80 improved in math and reading

  • 75 improved academically
  • 90 practicing abstinence

  • Serviced about 150 students
  • 90 improved FCAT scores in math and reading

HEALTH SERVICES
  • TOPWA
  • (TARGETED OUTREACH FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AT
    RISK)
  • Almost 400 women received access to exceptional
    pre and post-natal care services
  • 260 babies were born within the program
  • 100 were born healthy
  • Case Management
  • Provided 10,750 units of CM to 130 clients
  • An average of 84 units per client
  • Clients were linked to medical services, housing,
    transportation and other much needed services

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
  • VITAS TAX SERVICES
  • 200 Families were given assistance on their taxes
  • About 550,000 dollars was brought back to this
    community which is an average of 2,750 per
    family
  • 350 clients participated in over 120 workshops
    focusing on financial literacy using Money Smart
    curriculum
  • These workshops are aimed at bringing awareness
    on financial matters such as loans, mortgage,
    credit history, credit ratings and so on.
  • 70 successfully completed the workshop

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE MODE
  • 2,000 families received immediate assistance
    after the hurricane including food, water and
    ice
  • Distributed 175 Publix/ Winn Dixie cards
  • Those gift cards were given by United Way of
    Broward County
  • MDEI received 20,000 dollars from Sun Sentinel
    Children's Fund Hurricane Relief Campaign, a fund
    of the McCormick Tribune Foundation
