Targets Achievements
Support 91 large firms through WSP/ATR Grants Actual number of large firms that received Grants is 114.
Support 150 medium firms through WSP/ATR Grants Actual number of medium firms that received Grants is 158
Support 845 small levy paying firms 745 Small levy paying firms were supported
At least 7 077 workers achieved ABET level 1-4 9 460 workers achieved ABET level 1-4
1 000 workers to enter learning programmes No workers were supported from discretionary grants. 113,286 were supported from mandatory grants

The Department of Communication has committed R10m and the Isett Seta R 6, 28m (R 16,28m) to roll-out the capacity building programme to 18 FET colleges across nine (9) provinces. MoUs with provincial Departments of Education will be concluded. Future Plans for the Isett Seta
  • To implement Learnership and Internship
    programmes in under represented provinces in
    partnership with provincial governments.
  • To further train and up-skill unplaced learners.
  • To secure experiential training and placement
    opportunities for unemployed graduates.
  • To date 408 graduates trained and placed at a
    total cost of R 18, 36m.
  • To further train 3000 graduates on the internship
    programmes in the next 18 months as part of the
    JIPSA programme.
  • To procure R 85m from the NSF to achieve set
    objectives.

Future Plans
  • Forge partnerships with provincial governments
    when implementing ICT Learnership and Internship
    programmes.
  • Continued support to SMME training providers.
  • Encourage companies to enroll at least 15 white
    learners of Learnerships.
