Animal Sacrifice

• The animal was a SUBSTITUTE
• The animals blood was shed as a COVERING, an
  ATONEMENT for sin
• It reminded them of Gods PROMISE of a coming
  DELIVERER!

• Some suggest the name comes from one of the great
  grand-sons of Noah, EBER (Gen 1021)
• the weight of evidence suggests hebrew
  contains the idea of a wanderer, one from a
  country beyond, the man who has passed over
  (cf Hebrews 118-10)
