• Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words
  of eternal life!

1st Reading

• Joshua and the whole of Israel have settled in
  Israel for some time now.
• He makes them recall the interventions of Yahweh
  in their previous journey.
• Then he asks them to make a choice between Yahweh
  or their foreign gods.

2nd Reading

• St. Paul gives us insights about marriage. He
  says that Christs love for the Church should be
  the model for married love. Christs love is a
  sacrificial love, so must husbands and wives
  love must be.

Gospel

• Jesus had just finished his discourse on the
  Bread of Life. The teaching is very difficult to
  accept.
• But Jesus insists that they should have faith in
  His words.
• And so He asks them to make a choice, either
  follow Him or leave Him.

Our life of faith is always made up difficult
choices, difficult decisions.

• No matter how hard it may be or how difficult it
  may be
• One thing is for sure.
• We have to make a choice, we have to decide.
• And today, Jesus is asking us to make a choice.

• There is usually no middle way in this. No room
  for compromises.
• Either we accept Him, we follow Him TOTALLY.
• Or we leave Him.

• We hope that our answer will be the same as

• YOU have the WORDS of ETERNAL LIFE. So we shall
  totally follow YOU.
