• Open a blank document in MS Word
• Select
• FILEgtPAGE SETUP

• Change all margins to one inch
• Set Font and size to
• Times New Roman
• and size 12

• Set Page to Double Space
• Select
• FormatgtParagraph

• Set Line Spacing to DOUBLE

• Click Center and type title Works Cited
• Press ENTER

• Click ALIGN LEFT to set cursor at left margin

• Explanation of Indent Markers in MS Word
• There are 3 indent markers in Microsoft Word
• First Line Indent
• Hanging Indent
• Right Margin Indent

Hanging Indent

• On a works cited page
• The first line of each entry begins at the left
  margin (set to 1 inch)
• Each of the following lines of the same entry is
  indented an additional ½ inch (1.5 inches)

• To Change Hanging Indent
• Click on triangle of Hanging Indent marker
• Drag Hanging Indent marker to 1.5 inch on the
  ruler

• Load www.citationmachine.net
• Select MLA

• Select type of reference material
