  • Transportation fuel savings
  • Individual
  • Aggregate
  • R egional studies by the Puget Sound Partnership
(PSP) and national studies by the National
Research Council (NRC) have shown that a high
percentage of the pollutants reaching our
waterbodies are the result of transportation and
much of that is related to automobile travel.
  • These pollutants come directly from leaks of fuel
and lubricants to the roadway, and indirectly
from combustion particles going into the air and
then falling back onto the land and then often
    washed in to waterbodies.
