Meeting Needs

• Greater dialogue between ASSP the Hall Councils
  on the topic of diversity
• Increase awareness of multicultural programming
  and leadership opportunities available on campus
• Intentional engagement in the Administrations
  diversity initiative
• Bringing a multicultural perspective to Residence
  Hall programming
• Providing opportunities for all students in the
  Residence Halls to participate in a dialogue on
  diversity
• Making diversity related resources more available
  to students in the Residence Halls

Purpose

• To initiate, facilitate, and coordinate
  diversity efforts within each Residence Hall, and
  to serve as a resource for students and the Hall
  Council, providing connections, support and
  diversity resources within the structure of ASSP.

Duties

• Coordinate THREE events
• CFE service project
• Off-campus event
• Residence Hall event

Other Activities

• Attend Leadership Conference with the
  Intercultural Director
• Suggested attendance at the National Christian
  Multicultural Student Leaders Conference (NCMSLC)

Compensation

• 5-hour/per week volunteer position
• Expenses paid for the IAC to attend Leadership
  Retreat

Appointment

• Potential applicants will be recommended to the
  ID
• The ID will send out nomination letters detailing
  the IAC position to these prospective applicants
• Other general publicity for the position will be
  posted in the Residence Halls
• Applications will be available in the ASSP Office
• Interviews will be a collaborative process,
  involving the Intercultural Director,
  Intercultural Senator, the Assistant Director of
  Student Programs for Intercultural Affairs, the
  International Student Advisor, and the Assistant
  Director of Residence Life.
• One IAC per Residence Hall will be hired by the
  ID, in consultation with the above interviewers.

• Under the ASSP Operational Budget as a new
  Project Line
• Funding will be used for the following purposes
• Publicity

• Greater dialogue about and participation in the
  Administrations diversity initiative
• Provide ASSP with a better understanding of
  student needs as relates to campus climate
• Increased student participation in ASSP
  activities focused on diversity
• Creating bridges between our campus and our
  increasingly diverse city
• Providing educational, social and service
  oriented opportunities for students to engage
  their peers on the topic of diversity and expand
  their worldview
