The Victorian Alps are also known as the
Australian Alps or the Great Dividing Range.
These are the highest mountain ranges in south
eastern Australia. They divide the rivers and
streams which flow eastwards into the Pacific
Ocean. The range is at its highest in eastern
Victoria and southern New South Wales.

Most people of the Victorian Alps and other parts
of Victoria use trains and buses to get around.
The prices for the trains and buses range
anywhere from 7.60 to 20.00 depending on the
pass you buy

Baw Baw National Park
Baw Baw National Park is located about 50
kilometers above the Latrobe Valley in central
Gippsland.

Mount Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain in the
Victorian Alps. Mt. Kosciuszko is located in the
Snowy Mountains Range of the Victorian Alps, in
Kosciuszko National Park.

The Snowbird Inn is located Mount Hotham and was
built in the 1970s. It offers traditional
lodging as well as entertainment all day long

The Victorian Alps have an large amount of
variety when it comes to rare animals. They need
a specific environment to live and the Alps offer
just that.

Victoria has immense amounts of snowy plains
suitable for many outdoor winter activities. It
is one of the best places for cross-country
skiing in the winter season.

Opera in the Alps has been a major event for 10
years. It started out in 1996 and was a hit until
2002. In 2003 there was a bushfire that caused
them to cancel. When they came back in 2004 they
saw how much they were missed by the huge
turnout.
