Rules Expectations
  • Student
  • needs to be with another person at all times
  • needs to have contact information at all times
    (emergency)
  • needs to respect proposed schedule (time of
    departure)
  • needs to respect property of others
  • needs to consume non-alcoholic beverages ONLY
  • needs to consume legal substance ONLY
  • needs to follow rules and regulations when
    visiting sites and being in hotels and
    restaurants
  • needs to remain with the group at all times
  • needs to be in assigned room after 2200
  • needs to report any negative behaviors to a
    supervisor
  • Needs to follow cell phone policies (in case of
    injury, supervisor will call parents to inform
    them)

Consequences Contracts
  • If a student chooses NOT to follow the rules and
    regulations during the trip
  • Parent / Guardian will be contacted
  • 24/7 adult supervision might be in effect
  • Student might return earlier to Calgary and
    parent will have to pay extra charges (student
    supervisor) or will have to come to location to
    get the student
  • Contract of acknowledgement by student and
    parent (signed in October available at the
    front if needed a remnder.)

Roles MPO / School
  • MPO will provide the following services
  • Pre-organize on-site activities in collaboration
    with M. Christian
  • Meet group at airport
  • Provide all ground transportation
  • Provide guide and security guard
  • Provide or make arrangements for all meals and
    accommodation
  • Book flights
  • School representatives will be in charge of the
    following
  • Safety of the students at all times
  • Inform students of risks and alternatives
  • Supervision and preparation of students
  • Communicate behavioral, academic and character
    expectations to the students

  • Will do a research of one of the site prior the
    trip
  • Will receive a Livret de Voyage for journal
    entries and specific questions for sites
  • Will need to take pictures of sites and events
    for follow-up presentation to Grade 7 students
    Grade 9 FLA teacher
  • Parents
  • need to communicate all pertinent information to
    a school representative when necessary
  • provide transportation to and from Calgary
    Airport
  • complete and sign all required documentation
  • make sure that full payment have been given to GP
    Vanier

Insurance Info
  • MPO Insurance includes
  • Trip Cancellation
  • Medical
  • Trip Cancellation by the CBE
  • CBE provides also students with Medical travel
    Insurance
  • If student needs to see a doctor, he/she will
    have to use their Alberta Health Care card
  • if asked to pay, amount will be placed on my
    personal VISA or School Visa and family will
    reimburse me upon return

  • Consent of Parent or Guardian and Acknowledgement
    of Risk for a C-trip
  • Photocopy of Alberta Health Care Photo ID
  • Note from a legal guardian if the student will be
    leaving the group during the trip (visiting
    relatives, friends, etc.)
  • Choice for Fancy dinner (crosscheck name)
  • Insurance Waiver
  • Sign IN Cell phone (students parents)

  • Food allergies / Restrictions
  • Passenger Information for ticket please make
    sure name is adequate on the sign in sheet
  • Room allocation for Hotels (3- 4 students)

Travel Tips
  • Refer to hand out for restriction for luggage
    (weight / size / cost for extra luggage / etc.)
  • Carry-on Bottle sharp objects
  • Bring cloth that you can wear more than once if
    possible
  • Look at weather report a week prior
  • Proper footwear for walking and appropriate cloth
  • Bring what you can carry (1 suitcase 1 carry on
    )
  • Medication should be in their original container
