Why and how: In my work as a Learning Specialist, I made the decision in 1993 to focus exclusively on the critical high school-to-college transition for students with learning disabilities. High school students who are familiar with the differences between the high school and college systems and are prepared to deal with the unique rigors they will face are much more likely to beat the odds and graduate.
