Title: The Prophetic Calling of the Believer

1
The Prophetic Calling of the Believer
  • Biblical Principles for Fulfilling our
  • Responsibility as Gods Ambassadors

2
The Prophets Accountability
  • Ezekiel 317-19 Son of man, I have appointed you
a watchman to the house of Israel whenever you
hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me.
When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die',
and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the
wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that
wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his
blood I will require at your hand. Yet if you
have warned the wicked and he does not turn from
his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall
die in his iniquity but you have delivered
    yourself.

3
A Radical Truth
  • Matthew 1110-11
  • This is the one about whom it is written,
'Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, Who
will prepare Your way before You.
  • Truly I say to you, among those born of women
there has not arisen anyone greater than John the
Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom
of heaven is greater than he.

4
Characteristics of Prophets and Prophecy
  • The Message is
  • -Given From God Himself
  • The Messenger is
  • -Sent By God Himself
  • The Messenger
  • -Calls a People to Repentance and Faith towards
    God
  • -Pronounces the Blessings to those who Heed
  • -Pronounces the Curses to those who Refuse

5
Our Prophetic Privilege
  • 1Peter 110-13 As to this salvation, the prophets
who prophesied of the grace that would come to
you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking
to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ
within them was indicating as He predicted the
sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
It was revealed to them that they were not
serving themselves, but you, in these things
which now have been announced to you through
those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy
Spirit sent from heaven -- things into which
angels long to look. Therefore, prepare your
minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your
hope completely on the grace to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

6
  • 5 Foundational Biblical Precepts
  • to Fulfill our Prophetic Calling

7
1 Proclaim The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
  • 1Corinthians 22 For I determined to know nothing
among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
  • 1Corinthians 153-4 For I delivered to you as of
first importance what I also received, that
Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He
was raised on the third day according to the
    Scriptures,

2 Call All to Repentance and Faith in the Person
and Work of Christ
  • 2CO 518-21 Now all these things are from God,
who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and
gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely,
that God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself, not counting their trespasses against
them, and He has committed to us the word of
reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God were making an appeal
through us we beg you on behalf of Christ, be
reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to
be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the
    righteousness of God in Him.

3 Proclaim the Whole Counsel of God
  • ACTS 2026-27
  • Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am
innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not
shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of
    God.

10
4 Be Bold, Yet Peaceful Ambassadors
  • 1Peter 315 But sanctify Christ as Lord in your
hearts, always being ready to make a defense to
everyone who asks you to give an account for the
hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and
    reverence.
  • Romans 1218 If possible, so far as it depends on
you, be at peace with all men.

11
5 Prepare for Hardship
  • Philippians 127-29
  • Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of
the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and
see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that
you are standing firm in one spirit, with one
mind striving together for the faith of the
gospel in no way alarmed by your opponents --
which is a sign of destruction for them, but of
salvation for you, and that too, from God. For to
you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not
only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for
    His sake.

12
The Greatest Privilege
  • 1 Peter 29-10
  • But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, a people for God's own possession,
so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him
who has called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light for you once were not a people,
but now you are the people of God you had not
received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
