Title: Signs of a Soul in Need
1Signs of a Soul in Need

achieved as the believer purifies and strengthens
the three divisions of the soul the mind, the
will and the emotions.

5- (1Thes. 523-24) Now may the God of peace Himself
sanctify you completely and may your whole
spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who
calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
6- I saw more clearly than ever that the first
great and primary business to which I ought to
attend every day was, to have my soul happy in
the Lord. How different, when the soul is
refreshed and made happy early in the morning,
from what it is when without spiritual
preparation, the service, the trials and the
temptations of the day come upon one.

7Six descriptions of a soul in need
- 1. Soul that is unsatisfied
(Is. 552-3) Why do you spend money for what is
not bread, And your wages for what does not
satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is
good, And let your soul delight itself in
abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live And I will make
an everlasting covenant with you-- The sure
mercies of David.
8- 2. Soul that is weak or fainting
(Ps. 4211) Why are you cast down, O my soul? And
why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God
For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my
countenance and my God.
9(Ps. 883) For my soul is full of troubles, And
my life draws near to the grave.
10- 4. Soul that is tormented
(2Pet. 26-9) and turning the cities of Sodom and
Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to
destruction, making them an example to those who
afterward would live ungodly and delivered
righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy
conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man,
dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul
from day to day by seeing and hearing their
lawless deeds)-then the Lord knows how to deliver
the godly out of temptations and to reserve the
unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
11(Ps. 10922) For I am poor and needy, And my
heart is wounded within me.
12(Mark 836-37) "For what will it profit a man if
he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
"Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
13- (Ps. 1418) But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the
Lord In You I take refuge Do not leave my soul
destitute.
14- I rest beneath the Almightys shade. My griefs
expire, my troubles cease Thou, Lord, on whom my
soul is stayed, wilt keep me still in perfect
peace. - Charles
Wesley
