• The Second Edition of AHD is my own personal
  desk dictionary I use it often and have found it
  to be valuable well beyond just the giving
  definition of words. The Appendices at the
  back--Biographical Entries, Geographical Entries
  and Abbreviationsprove helpful and informative
  whenever consulted. The layout is logical, and
  the photos and drawings help inform the written
  text.
