• Commercial fishing is one of NCs oldest business
  activities
• Trawlers catch blue crab, shrimp, and flounder
• Largest blue crab populations are found in the
  Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds

• The Coastal Plains most important forest
  products are wood chips and wood pulp
• Both of these products are used to make paper
• Trees are renewable resources ( something that
  can be used and replaced)

Tourism and Filmmaking

• North Carolina has been called the Variety
  Vacationland.
• Tourism is a major industry because of the mild
  climate and both mountains and sea-shore to
  visit.
• Wilmingtons variety of riverfront, oceanfront,
  and rural locations have attracted many
  filmmakers.
• North Carolina has become the third-busiest
  filmmaking state in the country.
