World Shipping Council May, 2006
East Coast of South America (ECSA) in excess of
10 last year, and an increase of about 30 on
the ECSA-Asian routes. 20 growth in the trade
from WCSA to Europe. Exports from Chile, which
represent 60-70 of the total. Some of the most
significant routes for transporting future trade
volumes will continue to be those that would
increase demand for Panama Canal
transits. Carriers need to establish regular,
reliable services for the routes that will
link the worlds trading partners. Those liner
shipping services must be supported by sufficient
land side capacity in port terminals, railways
and highways to move goods to their final
destination. Therefore, carriers review the
availability of future infrastructure before
committing new services upon which importers and
exporters will rely and integrate into their
supply chain management planning.

Over the next 20 years, world air cargo will grow
at 6.1 per year. Overall, world air cargo
traffic will more than triple during the next 20
years. The U.S. carrier share of the world
market, currently estimated at 27.2, will
decline to 23.5 by 2025. The greatest air
freight market growth is expected in those
markets linked to Asia. Source Boeing World

what the users of real estate are saying
More CEOs are upgrading supply-chain management
from a transaction oriented afterthought to a
strategic priority. - Andrew Liveris, Dow

18
what the providers of real estate are saying
Large industrial users have become more
sophisticated and are no longer just looking for
a big box to store product for distribution. They
want a comprehensive logistics strategy While
important, real estate is only a component of
such a strategy. - Thomas R. Carragher, Studley
19
what the users of real estate want in a broker
  • Someone who can and will share best practices.
  • Someone who will learn about the companys
    needs.
  • Someone who can and will sit with the company at
    the strategy table.
  • Someone not focused entirely on the transaction.

Companies are looking for more than someone to
just find them a building or a piece of land
they are looking
for a strategic partner.
