Title: Loving the Body of Messiah

1
Loving the Body of Messiah
A Study by Kerry Alexander
2
Is not one of our main goals as believers in
Yahshua, to love the Body of Messiah? Surely we
can all agree on that one! But is there
something that we do that causes us not to love
the body of Messiah?
3
Have we been brought up in a culture that has
imbedded in our thinking some form of behavior
that actually causes us to hate our spiritual
siblings in a way that we are not aware? Have we
been blinded by our own ignorance to one of the
most important understandings, of how we can
love, protect and shield our brothers and sisters
against one of Satans oldest tricks?
4
It is time for us to wake up and identify one of
the greatest problems in the Body of Messiah that
is like a cancer spreading rapidly. And if we do
not make a change now then we will loose the
battle in the end time scenario.
5
Back to the Basics (What
we have been commanded)
1John 412 No one has seen Elohim at any time.
If we love one another, Elohim does stay in us,
and His love has been perfected in us.
6
1 John 420 If someone says, I love Elohim,
and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the
one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how
is he able to love Elohim whom he has not
seen? 21 And we have this command from Him, that
the one loving Elohim should love his brother
too.
7
1 John 2 9 The one who says he is in the light,
and hates his brother, is in the darkness
until now. 10 The one who loves his brother stays
in the light, and there is no stumbling-block in
him. 11 But the one who hates his brother is
in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and
does not know where he is going, because the
darkness has blinded his eyes.
8
But How Do We Love the Body of Messiah?
9
Romans 129 Let love be without hypocrisy.
Shrink from what is wicked, cling to what is
good. 10 In brotherly love, tenderly
loving towards one another, in appreciation, givin
g preference to each other
10
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not
be proud in mind, but go along with the lowly. Do
not be wise in your own estimation. 17 Repay no
one evil for evil. Respect what is right in the
sight of all men. 18 If possible, on your part,
be at peace with all men.
11
19 Beloved, do not revenge yourselves, but give
place to the wrath, for it has been written,
Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay, says YHWH. 21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil
with good.
12
1 Corinthians 134 Love is patient, is kind, love
does not envy, love does not boast, is not puffed
up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not seek
its own, is not provoked, reckons not the evil, 6
does not rejoice over the unrighteousness, but
rejoices in the truth, 7 it covers all, believes
all, expects all, endures all. 8 Love never
fails.
13
The Messiah Is Our Perfect Example On How To Love
  • Yahshua not only wants us to keep His Fathers
commandments but He also gives us an example of
how to be merciful when some one stumbles from
the truth! Take note how Messiah covers and
    protects His Body!

14
Ephesians 525 Husbands, love your wives, as
Messiah also did love the assembly and
gave Himself for it, 26 in order to set it apart
and cleanse it with the washing of water by the
Word, 27 in order to present it to Himself
a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle
or any of this sort, but that it might be
set-apart and blameless.
15
28 In this way husbands ought to love their own
wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife
loves himself.
16
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but feeds
and cherishes it, as also the Master does the
assembly. 30 Because we are members of His
body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 For this
cause a man shall leave his father and mother and
be joined to his wife, and the two shall become
one flesh. 32 This secret is great, but I speak
concerning Messiah and the assembly.
17
33 However, you too, everyone, let each one love
his own wife as himself, and let the wife see
that she fears her husband.
18
If you are married, you (of all people) should
understand how to protect your spouse. Husbands,
if your wife does something wrong, would you go
around the neighborhood and tell them what a
lousy wife you had, or would you go to your wife
in the privacy of your own home and lovingly let
her know what she had done wrong? I believe you
would do the latter! This is how the Messiah
deals with us. And this is how He wants us to
treat His Bride as well!
19
What Was The Greatest Act of Love that
Yahshua Did?
20
When His own brethren had Him sentenced to death,
did Yahshua get angry and judge them and wish
them condemnation?
21
Luke 2320 Wishing to release Yahshua, then,
Pilate appealed to them again. 21 But they were
calling out, saying, Impale! Impale Him!
22
22 And he said to them the third time, Why, what
evil has He done? I have found no reason for
death in Him. Having disciplined Him then, I
shall release Him. 23 But with loud voices they
insisted, asking for Him to be impaled. And
the voices of these men and of the chief
priests were prevailing.
23
30 And when they had come to the place called
Golgotha, they impaled Him there, and the
evil-doers, one on the right and the other on the
left. 34 And they divided His garments and cast
lots. 35 And the people were standing,
looking on, and the rulers also were sneering
with them, saying, He saved others, let Him save
Himself if He is the Messiah, the chosen of
Elohim.
24
36 And the soldiers were mocking Him too, coming
and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, If
You are the Sovereign of the Yahudim, save
Yourself.
25
And Yahshua said, Father, forgive them, for they
do not know what they do.
26
Yahshuas response to His brethren putting Him to
death was a very dramatic one indeed! He does the
unbelievable!

27
Yahshua realizes the Evil Force that drives the
engine of hate in people and sees them as being
controlled by Satan rather than being moved by
their own motivation, thus having the ability to
excuse their very actions.
28
We as followers of Messiah should realize the
same truth in the people we are involved with and
understand that they very well could be driven by
the same force. Would it not be easier to
forgive them if we could just see that they are
being influenced?
29
Merciful Moses Pleads For Israel
Many think of Moses as being a very stern,
unforgiving and exacting character who gave the
Ten Commandments, and who wishes to hold us under
judgment. But according to Torah the opposite
kind of character shines through.
30
Moses does a very Messiah kind of thing! Moses
witnesses the evil in the camp of Israel, but
instead of wishing to have them all destroyed, he
begs for mercy from Yahuah while at the same time
refuses a very flattering offer!
31
Deuteronomy 911   And it came to be, at the end
of forty days and forty nights, that YHWH gave
me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of
the covenant.
32
12 Then HWHY said to me, Arise, go down quickly
from here, for your people whom you brought out
of Mitsrayim have acted corruptly. They have
quickly turned aside from the way which I
commanded them, they have made themselves a
molded image.
33
13 And YHWH spoke to me, saying, I have seen
this people, and look, they are a stiff necked
people. 14 Leave Me alone, so that I destroy
them and blot out their name from under
the heavens, and make of you a nation stronger
and greater than they.
34
15 So I turned and came down from the mountain,
and the mountain burned with fire. And the two
tablets of the covenant were in my two hands. 16
And I looked and saw that you had sinned against
YHWH your Elohim, and had made for yourselves a
moulded calf! You had quickly turned aside from
the way which YHWH had commanded you.
35
17 And I took the two tablets and threw them out
of my two hands and broke them before your
eyes, 18 and I fell down before YHWH, as at
the first, forty days and forty nights. I did
not eat bread and I did not drink water, because
of all your sins which you committed in doing
evil in the eyes of YHWH, to provoke Him.
36
19 For I was afraid of the displeasure and rage
with which YHWH was wroth with you, to destroy
you. But YHWH listened to me that time once more.
24 You have been rebellious against YHWH from
the day that I knew you.
37
25 So I fell down before YHWH the forty days
and forty nights, for I fell down because YHWH
had said He would destroy you. 26 And I prayed
to HWHY, and said, O Master HWHY, do not destroy
Your people and Your inheritance whom You have
redeemed in Your greatness, whom You have brought
out of Mitsrayim with a strong hand.
38
27 Remember Your servants, Avraham, Yitzhak, and
Yaaqob. Do not look on the stubbornness of this
people, or on their wrong or on their sin, 28
lest the land from which You brought us should
say, Because YHWH was not able to bring them to
the land which He promised them, and because He
hated them, He has brought them out to kill
them in the wilderness.
39
29 And they are Your people and
Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your
great power and by Your outstretched arm.
40
How often do we, as individuals, deny our own
flesh and pray for our brother or sister when
they are in sin? How often do we fast and ask
Yahuah to have mercy on them when they have
wronged us? Isnt it easier to point the finger
and be quick to judge, and tell everyone what you
know?
41
Doesnt that just give us a lift and make us feel
more righteous than them? Because surely we would
never do anything like what they have done! You
see we are so proud of the fact that we are so
Torah observant! But are we really? Arent we
just as blind to ourselves as they are? Arent we
breaking the ninth commandment?
42
You shall not bear false witness against your
neighbor
43
We Love to Think of Ourselves as Torah
Observant!
44
Romans 138 Owe no one any matter except to
love one another, for he who loves another
has filled the Torah. 9 For this, You shall not
commit adultery, You shall not murder, You
shall not steal, You shall not bear false
witness, You shall not covet, and if there is
any other command, is summed up in this word,
You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
45
10 Love does no evil to a neighbour. Therefore,
love is completion of the Torah.
46
Exodus 231 Do not bring a false report. Do not
put your hand with the wrong to be a malicious
witness. 2Do not follow a crowd to do evil,
nor bear witness in a strife so as to turn
aside after many, to turn aside what is right.
47

Leviticus 1915   Do no unrighteousness in right
ruling. (Judging) Do not be partial to
the poor or favour the face of the great, but
rightly rule your neighbour in righteousness. 16
Do not go slandering among your people. Do not
stand against the blood of your neighbour. I am
YHWH.
48
17 Do not hate your brother in your
heart. Reprove your neighbour, for certain,
and bear no sin because of him. 18 Do not take
vengeance or bear a grudge against the children
of your people. And you shall love your neighbour
as yourself. I am YHWH.
49
Deut. 1915 One witness does not rise up against
a man concerning any crookedness or any sin that
he commits. At the mouth of two witnesses or at
the mouth of three witnesses a matter is
established.
50
16 When a malicious witness rises up against any
man to accuse him of turning aside, 17 then both
men who have the dispute shall stand before YHWH,
before the priests and the judges who serve in
those days.
51
18 And the judges shall diligently search and
see if the witness is a false witness, who has
falsely accused his brother, 19 then you shall
do to him as he thought to have done to his
brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from your
midst.
52
20 And let the rest hear and fear, and never
again do this evil matter in your midst. 21 And
let your eye not pardon, life for life, eye for
eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for
foot.
53
It is very interesting to see that one person is
not enough to establish any wrong doing by the
accused. Also the accuser is judged first to
see if he or she is a false witness. And if they
are, then they receive the very judgment that
they imagined to do to the other guy. Also note
that this is considered to be an Evil Matter in
their midst
54
So what would be a better course of action? To be
more like Yahshua or even like Moses, Joseph or
Job? Go back and read again all the great
examples that we have that we can learn from!
Let us re-examine ourselves and see if we can
truly say that we have been Torah observant. Let
us learn to build a hedge of protection for our
brothers and sisters the way that Yahuah wants us
to. Let us remember that it is more righteous to
be merciful!
55

Proverbs 179 He who covers a transgression seeks
love, But he who repeats a matter
separates intimate friends.   1 Peter 48 And
above all have fervent love for one another,
because love covers a great number of sins.
56
Isaiah 581-11 Cry aloud, do not spare. Lift
up your voice like a rams horn. Declare to My
people their transgression, and the house of
Yaaqob their sins. 2Yet they seek Me day by
day, and delight to know My ways, as a nation
that did righteousness, and did not forsake
the right-ruling of their Elohim. They ask of Me
rulings of righteousness, they delight in drawing
near to Elohim.
57
3They say, Why have we fasted, and You have not
seen? Why have we afflicted our beings, and You
took no note? Look, in the day of your fasting
you find pleasure, and drive on all your
laborers. 4Look, you fast for strife and
contention, and to strike with the fist of
wrongness. You do not fast as you do this day,
to make your voice heard on high.
58
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a
man to afflict his being? Is it to bow down his
head like a bulrush, and to spread out sackcloth
and ashes? Do you call this a fast, and an
acceptable day to HWHY? 6 Is this not the fast
that I have chosen to loosen the tight cords of
wrongness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to
exempt the oppressed, and to break off every
yoke?
59
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and that you bring to your house the poor who are
cast out when you see the naked, and cover him,
and not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8
Then your light would break forth like the
morning, your healing spring forth speedily. And
your righteousness shall go before you, the
esteem of YHWH would be your rear guard.
60
9 Then, when you call, YHWH would answer when
you cry, He would say, Here I am. If you take
away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of
the finger, and the speaking of
unrighteousness, 10 if you extend your being to
the hungry and satisfy the afflicted being, then
your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your
darkness be as noon.
61
11 Then YHWH would guide you continually, and
satisfy your being in drought, and strengthen
your bones. And you shall be like a watered
garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters
do not fail. 12 And those from among you shall
build the old waste places. You shall raise
up the foundations of many generations. And you
would be called the Repairer of the Breach, the
Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
62
Proverbs 6 16 These six matters YHWH
hates, And seven are an abomination to
Him 17 A proud look, A lying tongue,
And hands shedding innocent blood, 18 A heart
devising wicked schemes, Feet quick to run
to evil, 19 A false witness breathing out lies,
And one who causes strife among brothers.
63
So you may be asking if someone is breaking
Torah in the camp shouldnt we make it known to
the people in order to protect the rest of the
people? I say yes absolutely, But there is a
right way and a wrong way to do this. We just saw
the wrong way but Yahshua tells us the right way
to accomplish this.
64
Matthew 18 At that time the taught ones came to
Yahshua, saying, Who, then, is greatest in the
reign of the heavens? 2 And Yahshua called a
little child to Him, set him in their midst, 3
and said, Truly, I say to you, unless you turn
and become as little children, you shall by no
means enter into the reign of the heavens.
65
4 Whoever then humbles himself as this little
child is the greatest in the reign of
the heavens. 5 And whoever receives one little
child like this in My Name receives Me. 6 But
whoever causes one of these little ones who
believe in Me to stumble, it is better for him
that a millstone be hung around his neck, and
that he be drowned in the depth of the sea.
66
7 Woe to the world because of stumbling- blocks!
For it is necessary that stumbling- blocks come,
but woe to that man by whom the stumbling-block
comes! 8 And if your hand or foot causes you
to stumble, cut it off and throw it away
from you. It is better for you to enter into
life lame or crippled, rather than having
two hands or two feet, to be thrown into
the everlasting fire.
67
9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck
it out and throw it away from you. It is better
for you to enter into life with one eye, rather
than having two eyes, to be thrown into the fire
of Gehenna. 10 See that you do not despise one
of these little ones, for I say to you that in
the heavens their messengers always see the face
of My Father who is in the heavens. 11 For the
Son of Adam has come to save what was lost.
68
12 What do you think? If a man has a hundred
sheep, and one of them goes astray, would he not
leave the ninety-nine on the mountains, going to
seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he
should find it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices
more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine
that did not go astray. 14 Thus it is not the
desire of your Father who is in the heavens that
one of these little ones should be lost.
69
15 And if your brother sins against you, go and
reprove him, between you and him alone. If he
hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But
if he does not hear, take with you one or two
more, that by the mouth of two or three
witnesses every word might be established.
70
17 And if he refuses to hear them, say it to the
assembly. And if he refuses even to hear the
assembly, let him be to you like a gentile and a
tax collector. 18 Truly, I say to you, whatever
you bind on earth shall be having been bound
in heaven, and whatever you loosen on earth shall
be having been loosened in heaven.
71
19 Again I say to you that if two of you agree
on earth concerning any matter that they ask, it
shall be done for them by My Father in the
heavens. 20 For where two or three are
gathered together in My Name, there I am in
their midst.
72
21 Then Kepha came to Him and said, Master, how
often shall my brother sin against me, and I
forgive him? Up to seven times? 22 Yahshua said
to him, I do not say to you, up to seven times,
but up to seventy times seven.
73
23 Because of this the reign of the heavens is
like a certain man, a sovereign who wished to
settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when
he had begun to settle, one was brought to him
who owed him ten thousand talents,
74
25 but as he was unable to pay, his
master commanded that he be sold, with his
wife and children and all that he had, and
payment to be made. 26 Then the servant fell
down before him, saying, Master, have patience
with me, and I shall pay you all.
75
27 And the master of that servant was moved with
compassion, released him, and forgave him the
debt. 28 And that servant went out and found one
of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred
pieces of money. And he laid hands on him and
took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you
owe!
76
29 Then his fellow servant fell down at his feet
and begged him, saying, Have patience with me,
and I shall pay you all. 30 But he would not,
and went and threw him into prison till he should
pay the debt. 31 And when his fellow servants
saw what had been done, they were deeply grieved,
and came and reported to their master all that
had taken place.
77
32 Then his master called him and said to him,
Wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt
seeing you begged me. 33 Should you not also
have had compassion on your fellow servant, as I
also had compassion on you? 34 And his master
was wroth, and delivered him to the torturers
until he should pay all that was due to him.
78
35 So also My heavenly Father shall do to you if
each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his
brother his trespasses.
79
So What Is The Counsel of Yahshua on This
matter?
80
1 If someone offends us, we do not go and
spread it around like a wild fire! We go to this
person one on one, or face to face in private!
(I dont think the telephone is a good idea
here) Sometimes when we talk it out with the
other person, we discover that we are the one at
fault. Maybe we didnt understand correctly
exactly what happened. We can avoid further
embarrassment if we take this opportunity to talk
in private, also we will spare the other persons
reputation.
81
2 If he or she is wrong and they dont see the
error of their way then take someone else with
you (one or two) back to that person and talk it
over again in the presence of two or three
witnesses. This allows the accused to have one
last chance to repent before the matter is taken
before all. You see it is a hedge of protection
for the Body of Messiah for us to do it this way.
Otherwise anyone could rise up and destroy anyone
of us!
82
3 Then if the accused is still refusing to see
the error of his way then bring him before the
congregation and let them judge the matter
between the accuser and the accused. This allows
the last chance for repentance before cutting him
or her off from the Body of Messiah. Who now
has the authority to judge these matters?
83
Yahshua declares 18 Truly, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be having been
bound in heaven, and whatever you loosen on
earth shall be having been loosened in heaven. 19
Again I say to you that if two of you agree on
earth concerning any matter that they ask, it
shall be done for them by My Father in the
heavens. 20 For where two or three are
gathered together in My Name, there I am in
their midst.
84
We have got to get this part of the Torah
right! Like Yahshuas story of the little lamb
that went astray and He leaves the others to
bring back the one that was lost. But we have
been brought up in this world and sadly to say
even in the assemblies to destroy our brethren.
85
So what we are doing in the story is running out
to find the lamb and then kicking it off the
cliff and killing it, just for going astray. This
is why when we do this it is actually more evil
than the sin that the person is being accused
of. We have got to stop doing this to each other
and learn to catch ourselves before we commit
this crime again.
86
Jeremiah 93 And they bend their tongue like a
bow. Falsehood, and not truth, prevails on
the earth. For they proceed from evil to
evil, and they have not known Me,
declares YHWH. 4 Let everyone beware of his
neighbour and not trust any brother. For every
brother catches by the heel, and every
neighbour walks with slanderers.
87
5 And everyone deceives his neighbour, and no
one speaks the truth. They have taught their
tongue to speak falsehood, and have wearied
themselves to crook. 6 You live in the midst of
deceit through deceit they have refused to
know Me, declares YHWH.
88
The Enemy Will Use His Accusing Spirit Against Us
In The Last Days
Matthew 244 And Yahshua answering, said to
them, Take heed that no one leads you astray. 5
For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am
the Messiah, and they shall lead many astray.
89
6 And you shall begin to hear of fightings and
reports of fightings. See that you are not
troubled, for these have to take place, but the
end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against
nation, and reign against reign. And there shall
be scarcities of food, and deadly diseases,
and earthquakes in places.
90
8 And all these are the beginning of birth
pains. 9 Then they shall deliver you up
to affliction and kill you, and you shall
be hated by all nations for My Names sake. 10
And then many shall stumble, and they shall
deliver up one another, and shall hate one
another.
91
11 And many false prophets shall rise up and
lead many astray. 12 And because of the increase
in lawlessness, the love of many shall
become cold. 13 But he who shall have endured to
the end shall be saved.
92
Matthew 59 Blessed are the peacemakers,
because they shall be called sons of Elohim. 10
Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness
sake, because theirs is the reign of the
heavens.
93
11 Blessed are you when they reproach and
persecute you, and falsely say every wicked word
against you, for My sake. 12Rejoice and be
glad, because your reward in the heavens is
great. For in this way they persecuted the
prophets who were before you.
