• Students view the official Space Day DVD entitled
  Living and Working on the Moon 30 minutes
• 5 quiz questions are given during the showing
  students write down the questions

  answers to the National Air and Space Museum

• Top prize an astronaut visits the school

National ActivitySignatures in Space

• How it works
• Elementary and middle schools apply to
  participate
• 500 schools are selected in the U.S.
• Posters are sent to the schools for students to

• Signed posters are sent to NASA, where they are

• Digitized copies are launched on a NASA space
  shuttle mission
• Prizes
• School receives a flight certificate after the

• How it works
• Students work in teams on one or more of the
  predefined Design Challenges from the Challenger
  Space Science Institute all kids are winners,
  with special recognition to the 4-8 year olds

  events globally (Microsoft has a budget of 450M
  for these events this fiscal year alone)

  webcasts
• Events and webcasts, particularly the MSDN events
  for developers and the Technet events for IT
  staff, are announced on http//www.microsoft.com/e
  vents
• Tickets are required to attend the in-person
  events tickets are free from the website
• Prizes
• Free material is given out at the in-person
  events, including software, computers, etc.
• Drawings for prizes of some value are frequently
  held at the in-person events
