5Email Opt-Out
Consumers will now have the opt-out option
available when they receive an email from an agent
6- Opt-Out functionality was created to comply with
Anti-Spam regulations. Compliance with these
regulations falls to the agent, because they are
the sender of the email. - The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 required unsolicited
commercial - e-mail messages to be labeled as advertisements
and all commercial messages to include opt-out
instructions and the senders physical email
address. - Opt-Out Instructions are defined as a
functioning return electronic mail address or
other Internet-based mechanism, clearly and
conspicuously displayed, that a recipient may use
to submit, in a manner specified in the message,
a reply electronic mail message or other form of
Internet-based communication requesting not to
receive future commercial electronic mail
messages from that sender.
7Email Opt-Out
Consumers will now have the opt-out option
available when they receive an email for an agent
A blue underlined link will now be provided for
the consumer to indicate that they no longer wish
to receive correspondence from this agent.
8- When a consumer opts-out, the agent is sent an
email notification of the opt-out request - That agent can no longer send emails to the
consumer address that requested opt-out from
TEMPO, either manually or via
auto-notification - Other agents can still send email to an address
that has opted-out with a specified agent - If an opted-out address is tied to a prospect,
any other addresses associated to that prospect
will continue to receive emails - The opt-out is associated to the email address,
not the Prospect ID . As a result, if an agent
creates a new prospect with an opted-out address,
they are alerted when they attempt to save the
Contact Info form that they will be unable to
send email to that address.
9Email Opt-Out
An email is sent to a consumer when they submit
the Opt-Out Request Form. The Consumer will not
be opted out until they click the conformation
that is emailed to them.
10Email Opt-Out
An email is also sent to the agent when a
consumer has confirmed that they wish to
opt-out of emails from that agent.
11The envelope icon on the View Prospect list
will have a red symbol placed over it reminding
the agent that a prospect has requested not to
receive any emails via the opt out process.
12 Benefits of New Email Processes Address
verification processes reduce human error and
make sure emails are getting to their intended
recipients Enhanced Email Presentation for
Agents Opt-Out capability helps to reduce the
amount of extraneous email being sent that is not
desired by a consumer Opt-Out capability is one
prerequisite for having TEMPO added to ISP white
lists and bonded sender programs Consumer
request to opt in for future emails is available
via an MLS staff level function
