Step 1-Logging On
  • Do Not Log on to the computer as yourself!
  • Log on to www.hastings.k12.mn.us
  • Select SchoolView (Tab on the blue menu bar)
  • On the right hand side select Staff Links
  • Select Log in to I-Cue
  • Enter your employee number and password

the following tasks
  • Viewing Test Results for an individual student
  • Viewing Test Results for an individual test
  • Accessing Information via a One-Click Report
  • Saving Student Data in Microsoft Excel
  • Creating a Custom Report (Intermediate Users)

Task 1-Individual Student Part 1
  • To view the Test Assessment History on an
    Individual Student you will need to
  • 1. Locate Tests Assessments on the menu bar
    (top)
  • 2. Go to Test ScoresgtIndividual Student
  • 3. Choose a class on the pull-down menu and
    click Select Class
  • 4. Select any filtering options you would like
    (note that the number of filters applied will
    limit your results). If no filter options are
    desired, you will see your entire class

  • Select an individual student on the Students pull
    down menu (please note-you may also access this
    information using Student Link)
  • Click View Student
  • Note
  • Scroll Down to the bottom to see the results.
  • Scroll Down to the bottom to see the results.
  • To sort a column, click on the column heading
    once and the column is sorted ascending. Click
    the same column again to sort descending.
  • If there is strand information available for a
    test, the Test Description will appear as an
    underlined link you can click for a popup of the
    complete test detail.

Task 2-Individual Test Part 1
  • To view the Test Assessment History for an
    entire class on an individual test you will need
    to
  • 1. Locate Tests Assessments on the menu bar
    (top)
  • 2. Go to Test ScoresgtSingle Test
  • Choose a class on the pull-down menu and click
    Select Class
  • Select any filtering options you would like (note
    that the number of filters applied will limit
    your results). If no filter options are desired,
    you will see your entire class
  • Use the sort button to sort how you want to view
    the results

Task 2-Individual Test Part 2
  • 6. Input the Test Year (if you want to see last
    year select 2007) and then click on View Test to
    see a list of available test.
  • Select the individual test to view on the Tests
    pull down menu and click View Test. This will
    show you the class performance on this single
    test by student as well as class summary.
  • Click on an individual student to view that
    students strand scores.

Task 3 One-Click Reports Part 1
  • What is a One-Click Report?
  • It is a district template report that has been
    created to allow multiple staff to pull a the
    same report various times throughout the year.
  • To Access a One-Click Report in Tests and
    Assessments you will click on the Tests
    Assessments tab (top) to view a list of the
    One-Click Reports currently available in your
    building.

Task 3 One-Click Reports Part 2
  • To Run a One Click Report you will need to
  • Click on the Report Title.
  • Click Report Name
  • On this screen you may filter your data and then
    click Generate Results or..
  • Access a new One-Click Report
  • Note If you would like to see data on last
    years students you will need to change the data
    on the One-Click Main Page (see page 16)

Optional Task-Custom Reports Part 1
  • To design a Custom Report you will need to
  • 1. Locate Tests Assessments on the menu bar
    (top)
  • 2. Go to Test ScoresgtCustom Report
  • 3. Choose a class on the pull-down menu and
    click Class from the drop down menu
  • Select a Test Subject and a Test Kind (do not
    select Grade Levels)
  • Input the number of years (2 default)

  • You may select to view Tests by Strands by
    checking Show Strands.
  • Click Filter Tests
  • Select the tests and/or strands you want to
    include in the report. Note To include
    multiple tests and strands, hold down the
    ltCONTROLgt key while you make your selection.
  • Click Select Scores

Optional Task-Custom -Custom Reports Part 3
  • To skip this step click on Select Filters
  • You can modify what you want to see, by clicking
    on the selected information in the pop up window.
  • You can See Results
  • Once you are viewing the results you can filter
    the results with the specific information you are
    attempting to derive and then click Generate
    Results.

Seeing Former Students (Current) test
resultsPart 2
  • Note
  • -We are currently in School Year 2008
  • -Enrollment is based on an October 1 cut off.
  • -Think about when a given test was administered
    to view the students enrolled as of that date.
  • -If you changed grade levels this year you will
    need to use the One Click Report to access your
    data.
  • Use the pop up calendar to correctly configure
    the dates.
  • 3. Select the date and the school year to pull
    up a former class roster.
  • View test results for an individual or class.

Saving your Data in Excel Part 1
  • To save any data from I-Cue into Microsoft Excel
    you have several options.
  • 1. You may save the data as a Tab Delimited File
    and then open in Excel or
  • Open Microsoft Office Excel
  • Return to I-Cue
  • Select the data you want from I-Cue in a
    Printable Results window.
  • Highlight the data and copy into to Excel
  • Rename your file and Save !!!!!!!!!!
  • (to your Desktop or Documents Folder)

Saving your Data in Excel Part 2
  • If you are viewing data in a One-Click Report or
    as a Custom Report you may save your data in as a
    Tab Delimited File by following these steps
  • Select the data you want to save from I-Cue
  • Save as a Tab Delimited File
  • Save to Disk
  • Select your Desktop or your Documents Folder
  • Locate the file and RIGHT CLICK and open with
    Excel
  • Rename the file and resave.
