This program was created in 1992 to help inform
the public of historical achievements in the
study of chemistry and other related fields.

Gilman Hall
Gilman Hall was built in the 1910s at the
University of California. Two individuals Who had
done their research here won nobel prizes and had
gathered all their research in this building to
help advance the fields of chemical
thermodynamics and molecular structure.
Havemeyer Hall
This building was built in the late 1890s at
Columbia University. It provided a place of
research for students that were specializing in a
science field and was also the home of six
individuals who had done their studies here and
went on to receive nobel prizes.
Kem-Tone Wall Finish
The Sherwin-Williams company in 1941 introduced
the invention of new interior wall paint that
could withstand rubbing and washing. This new
discovery enabled Americans to paint their own
interiors of their homes.
