6Lets Talk about MOSES
7Who was Moses? 1. His Parents Amram and
Jochebed 2. What is the meaning of his name?
Drawn from the watersor Taken out of the
waters 3. Where was he born? In Egypt 4. His
occupation? He was the Prince of Egypt, Shepherd,
Prophet. 4. Key words in his life?
BY FAITH.
8Hebrews 1123-29 23 By faith Moses, when he
was born, was hidden three months by his parents,
because they saw he was a beautiful child and
they were not afraid of the kings command. 24 By
faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be
called the son of Pharaohs daughter, 25 choosing
rather to suffer affliction with the people of
God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater
riches than the treasures in Egypt for he looked
to the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not
fearing the wrath of the king for he endured as
seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept
the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he
who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29
By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by
dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do
so, were drowned.
9THE MAN WHO WAS GODS FRIEND (The Prophet of
God)
From the beginning of existence of the human
kind, we have seen that God has always selected
during different times different men to be close
to him or someone to whom He could pass
information to, for the rest of the people. That
was the case of Adam Enoch Abraham Isaac Jaco
b Joseph.
10Exodus 3311 11 So the LORD spoke to Moses
face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And
he would return to the camp, but his servant
Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not
depart from the tabernacle.
The relationship that existed between God and
Moses was so beautiful, that even when he died
God took charge of His burial.
11Deuteronomy 345-12 5 So Moses the servant of
the LORD died there in the land of Moab,
according to the word of the LORD. 6 And He
buried him in a valley in the land of Moab,
opposite Beth Peor but no one knows his grave to
this day. 7 Moses was one hundred and twenty
years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor
his natural vigor diminished. 8 And the children
of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab
thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning
for Moses ended. 9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was
full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid
his hands on him so the children of Israel
heeded him, and did as the LORD had commanded
Moses. 10 But since then there has not arisen in
Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew
face to face, 11 in all the signs and wonders
which the LORD sent him to do in the land of
Egypt, before Pharaoh, before all his servants,
and in all his land, 12 and by all that mighty
power and all the great terror which Moses
performed in the sight of all Israel.
12THE LIFE OF MOSES(Prophet of God)
Moses lived a total of 120 years that can be
divided into three sections
The First 40 years From birth until the flight
into Midian. As Pharaohs son, Moses learned how
to be SOMEBODY Lives in Pharaohs palace as a
real son of the king. Killed an Egyptian for
defending a fellow Jew that was being treated
unfairly. Flees from Pharaoh Exodus. 211-15
Acts 730
13THE LIFE OF MOSES(Prophet of God)
Moses lived a total of 120 years that can be
divided into three sections
The Second 40 years From the flight into Midian
to the Exodus. In desert places he learned how to
become NOBODY Exodus 31-4 1 Now Moses was
tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law,
the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the
back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the
mountain of God. 2 And the Angel of the LORD
appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst
of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was
burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.
3 Then Moses said, I will now turn aside and see
this great sight, why the bush does not burn.4
So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to
look, God called to him from the midst of the
bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here
I am.
14THE LIFE OF MOSES(Prophet of God)
Moses lived a total of 120 years that can be
divided into three sections
The Third 40 years From the Exodus to his own
Exodus. As the leader of Gods Hosts he learned
that GOD WAS EVERYBODY Numbers 148-11 8 If
the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us
into this land and give it to us, a land which
flows with milk and honey.9 Only do not rebel
against the LORD, nor fear the people of the
land, for they are our bread their protection
has departed from them, and the LORD is with us.
Do not fear them. 10 And all the congregation
said to stone them with stones. Now the glory of
the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of meeting
before all the children of Israel.
15THE FAITH OF MOSES (Prophet of God). Showing
faith among a perverse and crooked generation
requires faith, but not only faith but I should
say GREAT FAITH. Moses is recognized by his
great faith. Moses is in the Bible records
because of his great faith, and Moses will be
remembered by his great faith. We the Christians
are commanded to live for and by faith. 2
Corinthians 57 7 For we walk by faith, not by
sight. The people that he brought out of Egypt
were always living by sight but Moses was always
under the Word of the Lord, He was always living
by faithwhat about us? Are we like Moses or like
the people? Do we trust in the Lord and His Word?
16 Moses believed by faith that the one talking in
the burning bush was the Lord God. (Exo.
31-417) Moses also believed the Word of God
when He said Go and tell Pharaoh That Says the
Lord "Let my people go!" (Exodus. 51-1242)
He received a Law that would help Israel to be
closer to God, that Law now days we call The law
of Moses (Exodus. 20-31) Moses was very
important in Gods plan in order to bring Jesus
unto the World Moses is a type of Christ in many
aspects lets see some so that we can understand
the relationship between both.
17MOSES AND LORD JESUS.
Hebrews 35, 6 And Moses indeed was faithful in
all His house as a servant, for a testimony of
those things which would be spoken afterward, 6
but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose
house we are if we hold fast the confidence and
the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
There are many similarities between both. For
example Deuteronomy 1818-19 18 I will raise
up for them a Prophet like you from among their
brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and
He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19
And it shall be that whoever will not hear My
words, which He speaks in My name, I will require
it of him.
18Both were preserved from the perils of their
infancy. Exo.22 Matt 214. Both were tempted
but had mastered over evil. Exo.7 11 Matt.4
1. Both knew what it was to fast for 40 days.
Exo.3428 Matt.42. Both had powers to control
the sea. Exo 1421 Matt 826. Both Fed a
multitude. Exo 1626 Matt 1420-21. Both had a
radiant face. Exo 3435 Matt 172. Both endured
murmuring. Exo 1524 Mark 72
19Jesus and Moses But JESUS IS THE LORD
Both were discredited at home. Num 121 John
75. Both were mighty intercessors. Exo 3232
John 17. Both spoke the oracles of God. Deut
1818 John 746. Both had seventy helpers. Num
1116, 17 Luke 101. Both established
memorials. Exo 1214 Luke 2219. Both
reappeared after death Matt 173 Acts 13.
20MOSES IS NOT DEAD.
Moses is waiting for the final day until God
decides to send His Only Begotten Son to Judge
the world. In the meantime we the Christians can
say that Moses is in heaven (Hades) the place of
comfort. But why do we say that?
Well for the following reasons He appeared with
Lord JesusThat means that HE LIVESMatt
173. God spoke of Moses as being alive and not
dead. Luke 2037 God buried him even when Satan
was trying to take his body. Jude 9.
21LESSONS FOR US.
God sees and responds to the trials of His
people. He was with Moses and helped him have
the victory over his enemies. In the same manner
if we trust in him, He will help us to re-gain
the victory. Romans 831 31 What then shall we
say to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us? God delivers us from the bondage of
sin. Israel came out Egypt by the Mighty Hand of
the Lord, now we are rescued from the power of
Sin by the Mighty Blood of His Son Jesus. 1 John
17 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in
the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us
from all sin.
22God can and will use every person of faith. Moses
obtained victory not because he was an excellent
man but because BY FAITH HE TRUSTED IN GOD. God
can use us in the same manner only if we show
some faith, maybe not like Moses but our own
faith. Hebrews 116 6 But without faith it is
impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God
must believe that He is, and that He is a
rewarded of those who diligently seek
Him. Perseverance is key to obtaining God's
continuing approval. Even though the people
were forcing Moses to give up, he did not heed
their provocation but finished until the end. In
the same way we need to be faithful until the end
if we want to receive the same honor that Moses
received. Matt 2413 13 But he who endures to
the end shall be saved.
23Man must hear and heed the law of God. The Lord
told Moses Hebrews 85 5 who serve the copy
and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was
divinely instructed when he was about to make the
tabernacle. For He said, See that you make all
things according to the pattern shown you on the
mountain. We have been warned in the same
manner not to trespass the Law of God but to obey
everything that is written. God is not a
respecter of persons. Successful leaders of
God's people are led by God. Are we obeying the
Lord like His servant Moses?
24Can we imitate Moses in order to please God? We
have the last word
