Added Information

• We were now presented with data on the number of
  incidents that occurred at hospitals around the
  United States
• This data was divided among male and female
  nurses
• All of the nurses entered the workforce between
  1995 2005
• The nurses also reported which shift (1, 2, 3)
  they were working when the incident occurred

What We Discovered

• Male nurses made an average of 1.1 of the
  mistakes per year!
• Female nurses averaged 7.99 mistakes per year!
• Can this be correct?

Take a closer look

• 317,216 8 hour shifts were worked by male nurses
  during this time period.
• 2,299,231 8 hour shifts were worked by female
  nurses during this same period.
• That is more than 7 times the number of 8 hour
  shifts worked by males.

Other Discoveries

• 9,299 incidents occurred on the 3rd shift
  compared to 8,213 on the 2nd shift and 7,676 on
  the 1st shift!

Another Observation
The majority of the incidents occurred on the 7th
day which was Saturday. This was followed by the
next highest day Wednesday.

Modification for Version 3

• Text boxes that make helpful suggestions to the
  scheduler
• Ex. If the scheduler only schedules 2 nurses the
  system will suggest that more nurses be scheduled
  for times such as 3rd shifts when more accidents
  are known to happen.
• Ex. The system will suggest special consideration
  for the days of the week because it knows that
  Wednesday and Saturday have higher than normal
  incident reports.
  
• The system knows the date and will remember it
  
• everytime the application in open by
  utilizing an Auto_Open formula.
