State Childrens Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)
  • Created in conjunction with the Balanced Budget
    Act of 1997
  • Gives each state permission to offer health
    insurance for children, up to age 19
  • Each state sets its own guidelines regarding
    eligibility and services
  • In CA its called Healthy Families
