7
What Is NOT In Dispute
WHO SAVES
God (1 Tim. 23).
Christ (2 Tim. 110).
Holy Spirit (Titus 35).
We BOTH Agree On WHO Saves!
8
What Is NOT In Dispute
WHAT SAVES
Grace (Eph. 28-9).
Mercy (Titus 35).
Blood (Matt. 2628 Rom. 58-9).
Love (John 316).
Word of God (Js.121 Rom.116).
Faith (Eph. 28-9).
We BOTH Agree On WHAT Saves!
9
What Is NOT In Dispute
That These Do NOT Save
Water (1 Pet. 321).
Meritorious Works / Works of Men (Titus 35
Rom. 323 Is. 646).
Works of Law of Moses (Rom. 217 319-20
Gal. 214ff).
Works of Satan / Flesh (Gal. 519ff).
We BOTH Agree On This!
10
What I Do NOT Mean
Baptism alone will save.
The power is in the water.
The blood is in the water.
What I Mean
Water baptism is a CONDITION for salvation like
Dipping was a condition for Naamans cleansing
(2 Kings 5).
Looking at the brass serpent was a condition
for the healing (Num. 21).
11
What IS In Dispute
WHEN SAVED?
At The Point Of Faith (Jas. 214-24)?
At The Point Of OBEDIENT Faith Baptism (Rom.
63f, 16-18)?
We DISAGREE On WHEN One
Becomes Saved!
Opponent Takes SOME passages What about the
rest (Acts 2026-27)?
12
What IS In Dispute
WHEN SAVED?
Is baptism necessary for salvation or not? Is
it required by God?
Do we reach the blood of Christ before and
without baptism?
Can we enjoy pardon blessings in Christ
before we put on Christ?
We DISAGREE On WHEN One Becomes Saved!
13

(Rom. 3, 4, 11, Gal. 216)!
17
QUESTIONS For Mr. Holland

20
FAITH
Defined
Pistuo Strongs 4100 used especially of
the faith by which a man embraces Jesus, i.e.
conviction, full of joyful trust, that Jesus is
the Messiah the divinely appointed author of
eternal salvation in the kingdom of
God, conjoined with obedience to Christ
(Thayer p. 511).
21
FAITH
Defined
John 316 explained by v. 14-15!
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted
up 15 That whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
22
FAITH
Defined
John 316 explained by v. 14-15!
8 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery
serpent, and set it upon a standard and it shall
come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when
he seeth it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a
serpent of brass, and set it upon the standard
and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten
any man, when he looked unto the serpent of
brass, he lived. (Num. 214-9)
23
FAITH
Defined
James 214-26
v. 14 can that faith save him? v. 17 faith,
if it have not works, is dead in itself. v. 20
faith apart from works is barren v. 21 Was
not Abraham our father justified by works, in
that he offered up Isaac (Work of Devil? Men?
Law? Faith?) v. 22 faith wrought with his
works, and by works was faith made perfect
24
FAITH
Defined
James 214-26
v. 23 and the scripture was fulfilled which
saith, And Abraham believed God, and it was
reckoned unto him for righteousness v. 24
Ye see that by works a man is justified, and
not only by faith. v. 26 For as the body apart
from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart
from works is dead.
25
What Kind Of Faith?
Felix believed (Acts 2425).
Demons believe (Jas. 219)!
Many rulers believed (Jn 1242).
Agrippa believed (Acts 2627-29).
Many Jews believed (Jn. 831,39-40).
These Believe! Were They Saved? Are ALL
Believers Saved? If Not, Why Not?
26
What Kind Of Faith?
Many Jews believed (Jn. 831,38-41).
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed
on him
38 and ye do that which ye have seen with
your father. 39 They answered and said unto
him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto
them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do
the works of Abraham. 40 But now ye seek to
kill me, a man that hath told you the truth,
which I have heard of God this did not
Abraham. 41 Ye do the deeds of your father.
27
What Kind Of Faith?
OBEDIENT Faith Saves!
1. Baptized Called Believers (Acts
241) (Acts 244)
2. Baptized Having believed (Acts
1633) (Acts 1634)
3. Told to believe Were baptized on
Him in His name (Acts 194) (Acts 195)
Saved Believers Baptized Believers
28
THINGS OPPONENT CANNOT DO
Mark it down! See for yourself!
1. Give one passage that puts salvation before
baptism.
2. Give one passage that says saved before and
without baptism.
3. Give one passage that says baptism into
Christ is a work of man, a work of Satan or a
work of the Old Law!
4. Escape making faith only arguments!
5. Avoid contradicting the plain word of Jesus
the apostles!
29
Which Quote Is Accurate?
MARK 1616
A. He that believeth and IS baptized shall be
saved?
B. He that believeth and is NOT baptized shall
be saved?
1 PETER 321
A. Baptism doeth also NOW save you?
B. Baptism doeth also NOT save you?
30
Which Quote Is Accurate?
Acts 238
A. Repent and be baptized for the remission
of sins?
B. Repent, but baptism is NOT for the remission
of sins?
Acts 2216
A. Arise, be baptized and WASH AWAY THY SINS?
B. Arise, be baptized for thy sins are ALREADY
washed away?
31
A NEW HEART - HOW?
A new heart also will I give you, and a new
spirit will I put within you and I will take
away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I
will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put
my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my
statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do
them. (Ezk. 3626-27).
Those who were WILLING to OBEY! (Ezk. 1118-21)
v. 18 They will come remove the idols.
v. 19 God will give them a new heart.
v. 21 But those whose heart walketh after
their detestable things
32
Jonah 34-10
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's
journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days,
and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 So the
people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a
fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of
them even to the least of them. 6 For word came
unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his
throne, and he laid his robe from him, and
covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
33
Jonah 34-10
7 and published through Nineveh by the decree
of the king 8 But let man and beast be covered
with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God yea,
let them turn every one from his evil way, and
from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who
can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn
away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from
their evil way and God repented of the evil,
that he had said that he would do unto them and
he did it not.

PARALLEL VERSES
THE GREAT COMMISSION
Go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them into the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit (Mt. 2819).
preach the gospel to ever creature He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved (Mk.
1616).
and that repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in his name unto all the
nations, beginning from Jerusalem. (Lk. 2447)
37
Mark 1615-16
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the
world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Already Shall Be
Saved Saved
He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved
but he that disbelieveth shall be
condemned.
38
PARALLELS - MARK 1616
He that believes and sticks out his hand shall
receive 20 He that believes not shall be poor.
He that eats and digests shall live He that
eats not shall die.
He that believes and is baptized shall receive
1 million he that believes not shall be poor.
He that believes and attends shall be fed, He
that believes not shall be hungry.
39
PARALLELS - MARK 1616
He that believes and washes shall see He that
believes not shall not see. (John 97)
He that believes and marches shall receive the
city He that believes not shall not take it.
(Josh. 6 Heb. 1130)
He that believes and looks shall live He that
believes not shall die.
(Num.214-9)
He that believes and washes shall be clean, He
that believes not shall remain a leper. (2
Kings 510)
40
PARALLELS - MARK 1616
He that heareth my words, and believeth on him
that sent me, hath everlasting life (John
524).
to Him shall you hearken every soul that
shall not hearken to the prophet shall be
utterly destroyed (Acts 322-23).
Does this make belief unnecessary? Is one
saved at the POINT of hearing? NO! (Acts
2028)
41
Necessary Conclusion
AUTHORITY
The baptism of John, whence was it? from
heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with
themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven
he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe
him? (Matt. 2125)
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the
counsel of God against themselves, being not
baptized of him. (Luke 730)
To Reject Johns Baptism Was To Reject Gods
Counsel!
42
Necessary Conclusion
AUTHORITY
26 And they came unto John, and said unto him,
Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to
whom thou barest witness, behold, the same
baptizeth, and all men come to him. 27 John
answered and said, A man can receive nothing,
except it be given him from heaven. (John
326-27)
To Reject Christs Baptism Is To Reject Gods
Counsel!
43
The Force Of A Positive Command
AUTHORITY
POSITIVE NEGATIVE
Acts 1631 BELIEVE Do we
Acts 1730 REPENT need a
Mk. 1616 BAPTISM negative?
To SUBTRACT from Gods word is a SIN! (Deut. 42
Ezk. 310 Rev. 2218-19)
When God gives a POSITIVE command will my
opponent accept it?
44
EXCEPT...
Ye believe shall die (John 824).
Ye repent shall perish (Luke 133).
Ye be born again not enter into the
kingdom of God (John 33, 5).
Here is your negative statement about baptism!
I wonder if my opponent will accept it?
45
Who Believes In Christ?
He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved (Mark 1616).
He that believeth and is saved shall be
baptized (Opponent).
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words,
hath one that judgeth him the word that I have
spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
(John 1248)
46
OPPONENT QUESTIONS MARK 169-20!
He that believes and is baptized shall be
saved He that believes not shall be damned.
(Mark 1616)
  1. Opponent seeks to destroy faith in Mark 1616
    (2 Tim. 316-17 1 Pet. 122-25)!

2. Name one point in Mark 169-20 that is not
confirmed by unquestioned texts elsewhere!
3. If the best you can do is question the
inspiration of Scriptures YOU LOSE YOUR WHOLE
PROPOSITION!
47
THE THIEF ON THE CROSS
Luke 23
1. Mocked Jesus (Mt. 2744).
2. Believed Repented (Nec. Implied) (Lk.
2340-41).
3. Asked for forgiveness (Lk. 2342). (i.e.
acted in faith!)
4. Pardoned while Jesus was alive (v.43).
5. Then Jesus died (Lk. 2346 Heb. 917)!
6. Thieves died after Jesus did (Jn.1932f).
(See also Mt. 35-6 Jn. 41-3)
48
SALVATION UNDER WHICH WILL?
BEFORE AFTER
THE PALSIED MAN Thy sins are forgiven thee
(Mk. 25)
He that believeth and is baptized shall be
saved (Mk. 1616)
DEATH OF THE TESTATOR
THE SINFUL WOMAN Thy sins are forgiven (Lk.
848)
Repent, and be baptized for the remission of
sins (Acts 238).
THE PUBLICAN This man went down to his house
justified (Lk. 1814)
be baptized, and wash away thy sins (Acts
2216).
Heb. 916-17
THE THIEF Today shalt thou be with me in
paradise (Lk. 2343).
baptism also doth now save you (1 Pet. 321)
MARK 210 MATT. 2628
49
SALVATION BEFORE THE CROSS
1. John the baptist (Mt. 1111 Lk. 728).
2. Woman at Jesus feet (Lk. 738, 41-50).
3. Samaritan Leper (Lk. 1711-19).
4. Blind Bartimaeus (Lk.1835-43 Mk.1046ff).

6. Women w/ issue of blood (Mk.525-27,34).
7. Man sick of palsy (Mt.91ff Mk.21-12, 10).
8. Etc!
In Every Case Their Faith Was ACTIVE!
Even so, while Jesus was alive He could forgive
on ANY TERMS (Mk. 210)!
After His death, His Will is in effect (Heb.917)!
50
SALVATION UNDER WHICH WILL?
BEFORE AFTER
DEATH OF THE TESTATOR
He must still prove that sinners today are saved
under the New Testament without baptism!
Even if opponent proves these were saved without
baptism,
Heb. 916-17
51
THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
WHAT BELIEVER HAS ETERNAL LIFE?
Believer has power to become son (112).
Believer must look (314-16).
Believer must be born of water Spirit, do
truth, obey Son (35, 21, 36).
Know, ask, then drink living water (410, 14).
Must hear, do good, will to come come, receive
(524, 29, 40, 43).
Work for food unto eternal life, come eat
(627, 35, 45, 47).
Will to do, know, come, drink (717, 37).
52
THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
WHAT BELIEVER HAS ETERNAL LIFE?
Follow, walk in light, continue, know, keep
(812, 31, 32, 51).
Man told to Go wash, he went washed and
came seeing (97).
God hears those who worship Him do His will
(931).
Sheep follow know His voice, enter in to be
saved (104, 9).
Live and believe in Christ (1126).
Serve, follow, keep receive commandments (1226
, 47-50).
53
John 112, 1236, 1242-43
But as many as received him, to them gave he
power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name
THUS, at the point of faith
NOT YET a son!
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many
believed on him BUT because of the Pharisees
they did not confess him, lest they should be put
out of the synagogue For they loved the praise
of men more than the praise of God. (John
1242-43)
54
John 117
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and
truth came by Jesus Christ.
Baptism into Christ for the remission of sins is
not revealed in the Old Law.
Therefore, baptism is grace and truth! (Eph.
28 John 832)
God Calls Baptism Grace Truth!
Opponent Rejects God's Grace Truth!
55
Opponent Rejects God's Grace!
God INCLUDES Baptism As Grace!
BAPTISM Preach Jesus GRACE (Acts
835, 36 1120, 23).
BAPTISM Word GRACE
(Acts 1047-48 1114 2032).
BAPTISM The Gospel GRACE
(Acts 2210, 16 2024 Ro.63ff, 116 324).
WASHING (Baptism) Teaching GRACE
(Titus 35, 211-12 Eph. 526 44).
Baptism Grace (1 Pet. 321 512).
Baptized Into In Christ Grace
(Rom. 63 Gal. 327 2 Tim. 21).
56
John 33-5
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born
when he is old? can he enter the second time
into his mother's womb, and be born? (Who
thought of physical birth?) 5 Jesus answered,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter
into the kingdom of God.
57
John 36-8
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh and
that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be
born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it will,
and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst
not tell whence it cometh, and whither it
goeth so is every one that is born of the
Spirit.
A spiritual change not visible physically, you
can only see its effects.
58
John 39-10
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can
these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said
unto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and
knowest not these things?
Nicodemus didnt understand the nature of a
SPIRITUAL birth! Does my opponent?
59
J. R. Graves
Baptist Scholar
John 33, 5
The consensus of all scholars, in all ages,
established the fact that baptism is the act
referred to by the phrase born of water and it
is a Baptist doctrine (The Tennessee Baptist,
May 17, 1884).
No Baptist that we ever heard or read of ever
believed otherwise until A. Campbell frightened
them away from an interpretation that is
sustained by the consensus of all scholars of all
denominations in all ages (The Tennessee
Baptist, Oct. 30, 1886, p. 5).
60
OPPONENT ON JOHN 35
The Kingdom of God is not entered by baptism.
The Baptist Church is entered by baptism.
Therefore, the Baptist Church is not the Kingdom
of God.
61
John 336 (KJV)
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
life
VS.
John 336 (RHV)
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting
life, before and without water baptism
(RHV Roger Holland Version)
62
John 414
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall
give him shall never thirst but the water that I
shall give him shall be in him a well of water
springing up into everlasting life.
It is thus evident that, while the aorist
subjunctive piei in John 414 does not specify
durative action, neither does it in any way
proscribe it. There is nothing in the language
of John 414 to limit the drinking to a momentary
once-for-all act. (Shank, Life in the Son, p. 78)
63
Acts 236-38
36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus,
whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked
in their heart, and said Men and brethren, what
shall we do?
38. Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins
64
Matt. 2826
for this is my blood of the covenant, which is
poured out for many unto remission of sins.

God said offer Isaac (Gen.222).
Abram But God, you know I dont need to do
anything! Offering wont save me!

He Was Justified By Faith(Rom.43).
What Kind Of Faith? OBEDIENT!
Law of faith (Rom. 327).
Father of all them that believe... that
righteousness might be reckoned unto them
Father to those who also walk in the steps of
that faith of our father Abraham which he had in
uncircumcision. (412 2 Cor.57).

Acts 238 (Baptist Scholars)
Suppose we force eis in Acts ii. 38 to bear the
unnatural and unauthorized meaning of on account
of. After all we have gained nothing. Other
passages there are which cannot be explained
away. Thus our Savior said, just before he
ascended the heavens He that believeth and is
baptized shall be saved. We shall hardly dare to
tamper with his royal word and make it run, He
that believeth and is saved shall be baptized.
And unless we do thus change his saying, we have
by the highest authority, an importance
attributed to Baptism certainly not less than
that given to it in Acts ii. 38, translated
according to its obvious meaning. What then is
the advantage of violently torturing eis, the
construction and the context? (Willmarth,
Baptism and Remission, Baptist Quarterly, July
1877, p. 306)
74
Acts 238 (Williams Translation)
Peter said to them, You must repent and as an
expression of it, let everyone of you be baptized
in the name of Jesus Christ that you may have
your sins forgiven and you will receive the gift
of the Holy Spirit. (Charles B. Williams
Translation, 1950 ed.)

Acts 238 (Re Williams Translation)
We conclude that it is the best translation of
the New Testament in the English language.

EIS (Strongs 1519)
Commentary In order to the remission of sins
... we connect naturally with both the preceding
verbs. This clause states the motive or object
which should induce them to repent and be
baptized. It enforces the entire exhortation, not
one to the exclusion of the other. (H. B.
Hackett, editor of Smiths Dictionary, professor
at Brown U., Providence, R.I. Adjunct Professor
of the Latin and Greek Languages)

A SIMPLE QUESTION ANSWERED!
THE QUESTION What shall we do?
About what? Their SINS (Ax 223, 37)!

THE ANSWER Repent, and be baptized for the
remission of sins (Acts 238)
Did Peter tell them to do something BECAUSE OF or
IN ORDER TO what they were asking?
84
At The Point Of Faith???
Acts 319, Etc.
Believe Turn The Lord (Ax 1121).
Believe Baptism Saved (Mk. 1616).
Something AFTER Belief Repentance Turning to
God / Sins Removed!
Repent Turn Sin Blot out (Ax 319).
Repent Turn God (Acts 2620).
Repent Baptism Forgiven (Ax 238).

When Was The Eunuch Saved?
(Ax 835-39)
35 And Philip beginning from this Scripture,
preached unto him Jesus. 36 they came unto a
certain water and the eunuch saith, Behold,
here is water what doth hinder me to be
baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest
with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answered
and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son
of God.
1. Preaching Jesus includes baptism!
2. Baptism is a work OF FAITH!
86
When Was The Eunuch Saved?
(Ax 835-39)
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still
and they both went down into the water, both
Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39
And when they came up out of the water, the
Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip and the
eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way
rejoicing.
1. AFTER Baptism, WHEN came up out of the
water REJOICING!
2. Why did Philip teach baptism (Acts
238)? Why did the Eunuch rejoice AFTER
baptism?

Words whereby saved (Ax 1114)
And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell

THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD
Acts 2028
Again it is written (Mt.44).
The whole council of God (Acts 2028).
All scriptures are inspired (2 Tim. 316-17).
if any man shall add unto them if any man
shall take away from the words of the book
(Rev. 2218-19)
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command
you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it...
(Deut. 42 1232).
The sum of Thy word is truth (Ps.119160).
94
Acts 2216
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be
baptized, and wash
away thy sins, calling on his name.
Baptism is WHEN sins are washed away!
But WHAT washes them away (1 Pet. 321)? Jesus
Christ washed us from our sins in his own
blood (Rev. 15)!
Baptism is HOW we call on His name (Lk. 646
Mt. 721 Col. 317 Eph. 121)!

Conditional Salvation! Not Merited!

Rom. 116-17
OBEDIENT FAITH!
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it
is the power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth (v.16)
For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith as it is written,
The just shall live by faith. (v.17)
1. But must OBEY the Gospel (Rom.151626)!
2. Gods righteousness must be SUBMITTED
TO (Rom. 103)!
3. Thus, saving faith is OBEDIENT faith!
98
Romans 320-24
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall
no flesh be justified in his sight for by the
law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the
righteousness of God without the law is
manifested, being witnessed by the law and the
prophets 22 Even the righteousness of God which
is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon
all them that believe for there is no
difference 23 For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God 24 Being justified
freely by his grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus

Romans 325-29

righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God 26 To
declare, I say, at this time his righteousness
that he might be just, and the justifier of him
which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting
then? It is excluded. By what law? of works?
Nay but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we
conclude that a man is justified by faith
without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God
of the Jews only? is he not also of the
Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also
100
Romans 330-31
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the

Rom. 512-19
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin and so death passed upon
all men, for that all have sinned 13 (For until
the law sin was in the world but sin is not
imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless
death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them
that had not sinned after the similitude of
Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him
that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so
also is the free gift. For if through the offence
of one many be dead, much more the grace of God,
and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus
Christ, hath abounded unto many.
104
Rom. 512-19
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is
the gift for the judgment was by one to
condemnation, but the free gift is of many
offences unto justification. 17 For if by one
man's offence death reigned by one much more
they which receive abundance of grace and of the
gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one,
Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of
one judgment came upon all men to condemnation
even so by the righteousness of one the free gift
came upon all men unto justification of life. 19
For as by one man's disobedience many were made
sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be
made righteous.
105
Romans 63-7
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were
baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into
his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness
of life. 5 For if we have been planted together
in the likeness of his death, we shall be also
in the likeness of his resurrection 6 Knowing
this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that
henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he
that is dead is freed from sin.

"Spirit Baptism"?
If Opponent Says Romans 63 Gal. 326-27 Mark
1616 Refer To Spirit Baptism Then
Thats 2 Baptisms (water Spirit) BUT there is
one baptism (Eph. 44 526 1 Pet. 321).
That makes Spirit Baptism necessary for
salvation! That DENIES your proposition!
107
Romans 617-18
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye
are to whom ye obey whether of sin unto death,
or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God
be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin,
but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of
doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then
made free from sin, ye became the servants of
righteousness.

FREE GIFT
Does This Mean It Is Unconditional?
If so, then ALL are saved
Jesus gave himself for the life of the world
(John 316, 651).
Jesus tasted death for every man (Heb. 29).
He is the propitiation for our sin and not
our sins only, but also for the sins of the
whole world (1 John 22).
112
Romans 623
FREE GIFT
If my opponent admits faith is a condition
THEN conditions do NOT negate a free gift of
grace!
A FREE GIFT MUST STILL BE RECEIVED!
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It
was necessary that the word of God should first
have been spoken to you but seeing ye put it
from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, lo, we turn to the
Gentiles. (Acts 1346)
113
Logical Consequences
Unsaved are in the flesh (Rom. 88) so baptism
cannot please God???
Is one in the flesh when he repents? If so,
by your logic, he cannot please God!
Is one in the flesh when he believes? If
so, by your logic, he cannot please God!
Obviously Your Logic Is NOT Biblical!

Romans 101-3

I bear them record that they have a zeal of God,

about to establish their own righteousness, have
not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.

FIGURES OF BAPTISM IN THE O.T.!
how that all our fathers were under the cloud,
and all passed through the sea And were all
baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea
(1 Cor. 101-2).
And the children of Israel went into the midst
of the sea upon the dry ground and the waters
were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on
their left. (Ex. 1422)
Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the
hand of the Egyptians and Israel saw the
Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. (Ex.1430)
Their Physical Salvation Is Parallel To Our
Spiritual Salvation!

2 Corinthians 79-10
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry,
but that ye sorrowed to repentance for ye were
made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might
receive damage by us in nothing. 10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation
not to be repented of but the sorrow of the
world worketh death.

BAPTISM NO PART OF THE GOSPEL?
Gal. 18

Missionary Baptist Church.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach
any other gospel unto you than that which we have

is no part of the gospel.

(Gal.115-16)
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee,

that not of yourselves it is the gift of

"BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH"?
The Walls Of Jericho (Josh. 6)
  • Now Jericho was straitly shut up
  • Lord I have given into thine hand Jericho
  • 3 And ye shall go round about the city once.
Thus shalt thou do six days.
  • 4 and the seventh day ye shall compass the
city seven times, and the priests shall blow
    with the trumpets.
  • 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they
make a long blast with the ram's horn the wall
of the city shall fall down flat...

Naaman Cleansed Of Leprosy (2 Kings 5)
10 Elisha sent messenger Go and wash in Jordan
seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to
thee, and thou shalt be clean. 11 But Naaman
was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I
thought, He will surely come out to me, and
stand, and call on the name of the LORD his
God, and strike his hand over the place, and
recover the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar,
rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters
of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean?
So he turned and went away in a rage.

"BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH"?
Naaman Cleansed Of Leprosy (2 Kings 5)
13 And his servants came near, and spake unto
him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid
thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have
done it? how much rather then, when he saith to
thee, Wash, and be clean? 14 Then went he down,
and dipped himself seven times in Jordan,
according to the saying of the man of God and
his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a
little child, and he was clean. 15 and he said,
Behold, now I know that there is no God in all
the earth, but in Israel

with him by baptism into death that life as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life. (Rom. 63-4).
143
Eph. 211-14
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time
past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called
Uncircumcision by that which is called the
Circumcision in the flesh made by hands 12 That
at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens
from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers
from the covenants of promise, having no hope,
and without God in the world 13 But now in
Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are
made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is
our peace, who hath made both one, and hath
broken down the middle wall of partition between
us
144
Eph. 215-19
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even
the law of commandments contained in ordinances
for to make in himself of twain one new man, so
making peace 16 And that he might reconcile
both unto God in one body by the cross, having
slain the enmity thereby 17 And came and
preached peace to you which were afar off, and to
them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both
have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19

foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints,
and of the household of God

Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles,-- 2 if so be

Eph. 31-11
5 which in other generation was not made known
unto the sons of men, as it hath now been
revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in
the Spirit 6 to wit, that the Gentiles are
fellow-heirs, and fellow-members of the body,
and fellow- partakers of the promise in Christ
Jesus through the gospel, 7 whereof I was made
a minister, according to the gift of that grace
of God which was given me according to the
working of his power.
