6WHAT ARE THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS?
- Two year educational program
- Graduate with an Associate Degree
- Combined classroom, laboratory and clinical
education experiences
7PTA PROGRAM CURRICULUM
8CURRICULUM PLAN
- PTA Program is based on 11 curriculum model
- First year courses include pre-requisite courses
- All of the pre-requisite courses should be taken
prior to enrollment into the PTA Program - Some of the Arts and Science courses may have pre
or co-requisite courses not listed in the program
curriculum - Enrollment to courses in the clinical sequence is
restricted to students enrolled in the PTA Program
9CLINICAL PROGRAM
- Three full-time continuous semesters
- Enrollment begins in June
- Graduation in May of the following year (pending
completion of all pre-requisite courses) - 16 weeks of full time assignments in physical
therapy departments, under the direct supervision
of a clinical instructor
10ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Full admission to OLOL College
- Completion of, or enrollment in, at least 26
credit hours of prerequisite course work
including ENGL 101, ACSM 100, MATH 112, BIOL 210
BIOL 211 - A minimum of 100 hours of volunteer or work
experience in a physical therapy department - A minimum 2.75 gpa in all pre-requisite course
work
11PROGRAM ADMISSION
- Maximum of 22 students are accepted per year
- Priority is given to applicants who
- exhibit academic ability to successfully complete
the accelerated course work - have completed all of the prerequisite courses
- have exhibited an understanding of the demands of
the program and the profession - have completed prerequisite course work at OLOL
College
12ADMISSION PROCESS
- Submit program application, and all required
documentation, by March 1 - 3 letters of recommendation
- verification of volunteer/work hours
- official transcripts of all college course work
- Interviews with Admissions Committee begin in
mid-February - Selection of class completed by mid-April

- 97 of students enrolled in the PTA Program
graduate from the program. - 91 of the program graduates passed the licensure
examination - 92 of the program graduates are employed in
physical therapy practice, either on a full time
or part time basis
